TP Zelda

In order to get a full heart you now need to get 5 peices instead of 4.
Three types of bombs will be in the game that Link can use, claw shot has the ability to spring like a hookshot and swing like a grapple and Link can get a new weapon called the "Ball and Chain".
Link also has some "Spinnec" ability that allows for him to float over enemies and attack.
The Starting Village is called Ordon village.
Midna can teleport you later on in the game.
Zelda is the Twilight Princess
There are 9 Dungeons
Nintendo Revolution

Nintendo have announced that a Zelda game for Revolution is currently in development. There is no word yet on whether or not it will be related to Twilight Princess, or what animation style will be used. At this time, there is really no information about this game at all, except the fact that it is being made.

Nintendo DS

Two new Zelda-related games are in development for the Nintendo DS. One of these is The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. There is also a spinoff game starring Tingle. Information about these games will be posted into new sections in the near future.

Up until E3 in May 2004, most Zelda fans had assumed that the next Zelda game for Gamecube would be a sequel to The Wind Waker. Nintendo had once said that the game would run on the Wind Waker engine. Most people assumed this would mean a continuation of the cel-shaded graphics, so the Zelda world was turned upside down when, at the end of a presentation during E3, Nintendo surprised everyone with a video. This video turned out to be a demo of the next Zelda for GameCube. However, instead of cel-shading, the video showed breathtaking, realistic looking graphics.

Flash back a few years to 2001. At Spaceworld in 2000, Nintendo was demonstrating the capabilities of their new GameCube console, which had not been released yet. Of all of the famous Nintendo characters to choose from, they decided to use Zelda characters - in particular showing a fight between Link and Ganondorf (you can watch this on the videos page.) This was not meant to be a demo of the Zelda game for Gamecube in any way. However, at Spaceworld in 2001 when Link's new cel-shaded look for the game later released as Wind Waker was unveiled, Zelda fans were left in shock and disbelief. After Zelda's jump to 3D on Nintendo 64, they were expecting the Gamecube games would have better quality 3D graphics similar to those seen at the Spaceworld 2000 demo. It is only fitting that Nintendo surprised all Zelda fans like this when we were expecting the cel-shading to return.

At E3 in May 2005, Nintendo announced the title of this new game: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They also showed a trailer that answers some of the questions raised by the earlier videos. In this game, Link will be able to take on the form of a wolf. Parts of the game will also take place in the Twilight Realm. If you're looking for spoilers on the storyline, this isn't the site to be at, because I am trying to avoid spoilers myself. I don't want to find out too much, so that I can enjoy the game itself when I play it through. I knew far too much about Wind Waker before I played it through, and it somewhat ruined the suprises. Other things known about Twilight Princess include the fact that it will be longer than Ocarina of Time, and will feature an orchestrated soundtrack. It is not a sequel, but an entirely original entry into the Zelda series. Exactly where in the series is unclear yet, but Nintendo have revealed that it takes place chronologically in the series after Wind Waker. They were not lying when they said that the next game would run on the Wind Waker engine. It will run on a modified version of it. This game also features the most awesome looking Link ever! The attention to detail is extraordinary. You can see the stitching on his tunic, and he's even wearing chain mail. He does not really look like the Link on the Spaceworld 2000 demo, and that is good because in my honest opinion that Link looked quite girly. He also looks better than the Links seen in Super Smash Bros. Melee, or Soul Calibur 2 (although both of these Links were based off his adult-self in Ocarina of Time).

This game will not be released until at least fall, 2006, and I will keep you informed of progress.

•When Link travels to the darkened land of Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious being named Midna.

•Ride into battle against troops of foul creatures, using an incredible horseback combat system, then take on massive bosses that must be seen to be believed.

•Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so players must sharpen their wits as they hunt for weapons and items.

•Characters include Link, Zelda, Midna and many others, both new and old.

Link, a young man raised as a wrangler in a rural village, is ordered by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit. He sets off, oblivious to the dark fate that has descended upon the kingdom. When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. A mysterious figure named Midna helps him break free, and with the aid of her magic, they set off to free the land from the shadows.

Link must explore the vast land of Hyrule and uncover the mystery behind its plunge into darkness. As he does, he'll have to enlist the aid of friendly folk, solve puzzles and battle his way through dangerous dungeons. In the Twilight Realm, he'll have to use his wolf abilities and Midna's magic to bring light to the land.

Besides his trusty sword and shield, Link will use his bow and arrows, fight while on horseback and use a wealth of other items, both new and old.

Spoiler warnings would be appreciated.

LadyNintendo

It only was a reminder. I haven't read anything that spoils the fun for me. :)

darkphantomime

Heh, ummm, the guy had it wrong when he said that it was 'confirmed' that it would take place post-windwaker. As we know it, PH is post-windwaker, whilst TP takes place post-OoT.

Hmm,  a new zelda game besides TP for the wii. !!!! I'm so getting the wii if that ever comes out. Although, as with OoT and the N64, it could take a looooooong while before the new zelda (not tp) comes out.

Wow, thanks for the news.
I haven't really be checking up on TP and all the stuff in the first couple of paragraphs is new to me!
The ball and chain thing sounds awesome!! Does it mean like a spiked ball, like a mace.

Any news on whether it will be on the gamecube too? If so, I might not by the Revolution, because I have other uses for the money.

Also, Nintendo said that it will happen after Wind Waker. I wonder, when the Zelda series ends, will they reveal a timeline?

TP Zelda

there this:

As if delaying the game isn't building up enough of a whirlwind of anticipation around Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Shigeru Miyamoto has apparently stated that the GameCube title will in fact be 'perfect'.

In a recent interview with publication Official Nintendo Magazine, the Nintendo game designer has commented that the delay to the game was received with joy by the development team since it allowed them, "...to have the time to work on many ideas." So would those ideas include Revolution functionality? And is it possible for any title to be truly perfect?

At the moment the game is still scheduled for the rather non-specific release period of '2006' however Twilight Princess is yet to appear in Nintendo's release schedules...

im still looking

BTW sorry 4 double posting

Mysterious F.

It's okay, I deleted the post, but you don't get a warning because you apologized for it, just a friendly warning.

LadyNintendo

TP comes before TWW, not after it.

Pfff, they can say all they want, but I'm gonna judge the game by playing it. We'll see if it indeed is perfect. Opinions differ and I just know there will be at least something that will make it not perfect. But hey, let's wait and see.

I believe it the cube version was planned to be released somewhere is Dec.

o0Zelda0o

Wow! I aint bin on here 4 aagggeeesss!!!!!!! ^^ lol does any 1 know if tp is gunna be out 4 gc or is it just gunna b the Nintendo Wii?  :D

TP Zelda

It's going to be on both. It comes out on the Wii on Nov. 19th, and the GCN on Dec 13th. (If it's not delayed again. 8))

QuoteAlso, Nintendo said that it will happen after Wind Waker. I wonder, when the Zelda series ends, will they reveal a timeline?

Two months later they said it's between OoT and TWW. Ever since then, it's been the official placement.
