people say there is a time line, but maybe there isn't maybe there is only on legend that changed after ages. This maybe sound dumb but it is just a idea ???

Even if we ignore all the recent statesments from Nintendo regarding the timeline, it's still a fact that Miyamoto stated way back that they have a giant documentary hidden somewhere that describes the timeline in detail.

Now read closely. Miyamoto said that the timeline is not so important to them, not that it's not important at all. Many people have misunderstood that statement.

I would like to say that this is an interesting idea. The ledgend is merely being retold inaccurately. At the time itt is being told.... there are problems with flooding, so hyrule is flooded. At another time the kids are too impatient to go out and adventure, so the ledgend uis made so that link has to wait before he can fight.
Most ledgends arnt baces on fact but on a moral. Thats why good always wins over evil, because the moral is " be good"

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

Personally, I don't like the idea of it all just being the same legend. It would vastly limit the creativity of future games, because they all has to look like each others.

But thankfully, TWW can't be a variation of ALttP or OoT, and LoZ and TMC are too different.

Oh ok, the MAIN storyline games could be this (ones with gannon and such) and teh others could be just made up but related to the same world.

I like this theory because it relates so well to how ledgends tend to get distorted in real life to fit a moral, even though they may not necessarilly be true. Not meaning to offend anyone if they are religious but the bible does this with almost all teh stories in it!

Well, I don't think it's really that extreme in the Bible, or at least not in the Old Testament. But you could compare the Jews' imprisonment in Babylon with their imprisonment in Egypt.

But anyway, Aonuma has already said that all the games are connected through a timeline. And - if you don't take Aonuma's words for granted - although it was a mistranslation, Miyamoto's old statement of the timeline back in 1998 proves there is one.

If we go even further back, to AoL, it is stated in that game (in the Japanese manual) that the Sleeping Princess is of the first generation of Zelda.

Although even with that statement, I still prefer to have it between ALttP and LoZ in the timeline. I take anything regarding the timeline that's said in the two first games with a grain of salt.

My point is that there were hints of a timeline already back then.

Yeah, but I still think that Jack's timeline is the best one because it seems more convincing.

Many aspects of the game are flawed to have a solid storyline behind them.  You can tell they have patched together a timeline theory themselves.

There are several quotes that would contradict other games.

Only one worthy of the title of Hero of Time can pull it from the Pedestal of Time. That's what Rauru said. ;) That's probably because removing it from the Pedestal opens the gate to the Golden Land and there's no actual test, like in TWW and ALttP.

As for my comment earlier, about the AoL BS, I actually have evidence that may disprove the entire story.

While I do count whatever the manual says as canon, I do place the games themselves even higher. If the games say anything that argues with the manual, I will first and foremost believe in the game.

In AoL it is written that Impa tells Link that a sleeping spell has been cast on Princess Zelda, or something like that. So, it does in fact seem like it is the Zelda from LoZ.

Yes, I realize that doesn't fully count as evidence seen as the time the game was released. But wait, there's more. When you break the spell Zelda will tell you that you've saved Hyrule and is a true hero, and then she will kiss Link!

Saved Hyrule? Okaaaay. Who's the villain? There is no villain in that game. So, what it must have meant is that the King is old and sick (or already dead) and there's no other heir. Which, yes, leads to the conclusion that she's the Zelda from LoZ. Heck, she even knows him. And I believe they already may be in love.

I havnt played AoL (well not yet atleast). But i have herd that zeldas brotehr was the one who put the spell on zelda after an unnamed wizard told him that zelda knew where the triforce was and zelda didnt tell him. this wold surely mean a villian. saved hyrule could mean from her brother.

Plus my comment about teh bible earlier in the thead... i  didnt put my point across perfectly. If you were to take the bible literally moses was 700 years oldor something like that so the stories must have been inaccuratly told before they were written down, altered to fit a moral code.

Well, Moses lived after the Flood so he can't have been that old. :-* As for AoL, it was the WIZARD who cast the spell on Zelda. The new King loved his sister.
