Ok, Medli is a Rito, first off. Next she is the attendant to Valoo, Guardian of the Sky. Makar is the attendant to the Great Deku Tree, Guardian of the Earth.

Yeah, only the thing is... Medli is the Sage of Earth and Makar is the Sage of Wind. You said that Medli was the attendant of Valoo, " " " ", and she isn't the Sage of Wind. The same goes for Makar.

Anyway, regardless of race, I think that a part of their "Sagedom" would be due to their instruments. Both Fado and Laruto (that's her name, right?) had the same instruments that Makar and Medli had, respectively. I see a connection there.

What I mean is, seeing as how Valoo is wind, than Medli should be wind, same with Makar and the GDT.

I agree with shikamaru. It is possible that the role of a sage passes down race by race. Just like in the avatar. It could also be blood. Makar's people where once the Kokori seen in Oot. And Medli it's possoble that there was crossbreeding between the two races. I dont like the thought of evolution from Zora to Rito.

In OOT the sages made sence, one for each major race, and the temples were near the major population center of that race. In WW, they use diffrent races, and the temples are nowhere near the major population center (eg. the Wind temple is on the other side of the sea from the Forest Haven).

In WW only two sages were revealed though, not to mention the flood mixed a lot of stuff up. They could have lived near it before, but the area they were living in got flooded and they had to relocate.

I agree, it would make a lot more sense if Fado was the earth sage, and Medli was the win sage.
Maybe Nintendo only switched em to make the game, playout the way they wanted.
For ex.
If Nintendo wanted you to get the item for the Wind temple first, you'd obviously meet the Wind sage at the first part of the game, regardless of the location.

Remember, they had to work with the same OoT time map, so somethings had to be worked around.
