We all know that video games films have been a complete mess, incuiding Mario Bross.(someone remenber that movie?) but comicbooks films  have not been so lame lately, should videogames follow the path of the superheroes, or should we keep on playing lame films games.

Personally I think that I should get to direct a Zelda movie, an no one else should touch it....heh.

I dont think any video game movie should be made, unless the characters actually talk in the video games!

I agree with Marin, it would be too much if they suddenly hit us with voices of characters that we've known so long. I mean when your playing the game you sort of imagine what zelda and the other characters sound like but everyone has a different perspective. And if they made a movie there would be a major fan against director clash on what they should sound like. In the end my vote is no movie for Link.

Same, I don't think they should ever make video games into movies. It would just ruin video games, ecspecially for Zelda. Besides, it's better firguring out what to do by playing it then watching it.

Actually, Link sort of does talk.  He says whatever you want him to say that fits into the game.  How does he start conversations?  And you always have someone saying things to him regarding something only Link told them.

A movie won't reuin the games. Since when did video game-based movies ruin the game they were based on? Remember the Mario movie? That was awful! Did it ruin the games? No! Did the Zelda cartoons ruin LoZ and AoL? No! They only ruined NES Link's reputation.

I personaly think that a videogame so special like Zelda would be a great movie, but the pevious experiences in games movies makes us feel that is better to leave it like a videogame, qe have to remember though, that thanks to the movies we have Zelda games, for those who lack of these info (few I think) Mr. Miyamoto was inspired by Ridley Scott's: "LEGEND" starring Tom Cruise, Wich I haven't seen yet, for my terrible disgrace; and yes I agree with Marin lisening to characters voices all of a sudden could break the magic, despite the ancient series(wich was transmited after Mario's)

I think the bottom line is that it could be done.  Peter Jackson did great things with the Lord of the RIngs.  You just have to make sure you get someone who cares enough about the property to realize it faithfully.  Now what are the chances of that?
Slim to none.  More than likely a Zelda movie would likely suck, and do nothing but enrage the fans, and turn potential Zelda fans away from the series.  
However, I think I'm willing to make that gamble.
Think of the success it could bring Nintendo if it had a hit movie.  And there are other Nintendo franchises that could be great movies...(METROID).
As long as Nintendo could resist making lame movie tie-in games, it could mean great things for Nintendo's future.

I've read a cople of articles about the Metroid movie, it will be directed by John Woo, famous japaneese director, he directs accion movies, he did: mission impossible 2 and a movie with van damme which title I cannot remember now, according with critics he is one of the best director in the accion films I personally dislike accion movies, but the question would be is this director the best opcion for a sci-fi movie? not even mentioning a videogame movie!?, I just hope to see a decent movie if all this is true, I also heard about Soulcalibur movie.
my final thought about a Zelda movie is that if someone would make it it should be animated, or a lord of the rings- type film  like Darth Suron says.
