There is no link to the past.

So what exactly is the link to the past or did they just call the game that because they wanted to?

In Japan, it's called Triforce of the Gods, but Nintendo of America, when translating games, renames most religious things in the games (Including Agnahim, who was originally a priest) so they won't inslult fans, since America is full of different religions.
As for other reasons, I have no idea.

Hi no Seijin

If you think about it, there are some links to the past in the game.  Hookshot.  Master Sword.  The Book of Mudora, which translated Ancient Hylian for you.  If that isn't a link to the past, then I don't know what is.

The Dark World could be a link, possibly, but I don't know how. They should have thought of a better title.

Zelda Veteran

Like I said in my Twilight Princess blogging, I found something interesting. We already know that the worlds of Light and Darkness are coliding in the game, only the Dark world is refered to as the "Twilight Realm". And what's more, you will find a mirror, that serves as a last link between two realms. I think it may be possible that it is one and the same as the magic mirror in "A Link to the Past/Triforce of the Gods". Any thoughts? I'll also post this in the Theorys section.

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

I believe the American version of the title stems from the intro to the game where it talks about the sages who sealed Ganon and then in the second part of the game you are looking for the decendants of those sages to assist you in breaking the barrier to Ganon's Tower, so that is the link to the past: the sages and their decendants.

Um, must I repeat this?

DIFFERENT TITLE.

Probably this is just some crappy name they put little thought into.

AND I REPEAT...(look at my post). NOA probably did not come up with a "crappy" title but at least put some thought into the title.

Well, I admit they did put thought into it, I just think they put too little thought. I also prefer usong Japanese names for games with changed names in the English versions, because they are the originals.

Yeah I agree with that, especially when I deal with talking with others about classic Final Fantasy games. For instance I will be talking about FFVI with someone and then they are like "Dude, thats not FFVI, thats FFIII"
