I let one of my friends use my OoT for a few weeks. When I got it back I discovered that he had used a gameshark to get him all the spiritual stones and madalions. I take advantage of this and get the ocerina of time and become an adult. As soon as I walk towards the exit of the temple of time, THE GAME SKIPS TO THAT PART WHERE SHIEK REVEALS HE'S ZELDA AND GETS KIDNAPPED! >:( However when I go towards the master sword Shiek comes and says I have to beat the forest temple. I call Saria and she acts like I've already saved her. Now whenever I get near a temple Shiek tells me I have to beat it EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY HAVE THE MEDALION. All the while Navis telling me I still have to beat Dodongos Cavarn >:(. Has this happened to anyone else here? Heeeeelp.

Lokes

Dude, he dont reveal he's zelda until you return to the temple of time after finishing all the temples.

The first time you're adult sheik don't reveal he's Zelda, all he does is talk to you, beside the pedestal about the path ahead...  :o so wtf are you talking about?

And if you really want to do the game, drop the cheats.
I'm not helping people who cheats, and I suggest everyone here tries to tell Iron Knuckle that he should play the game without cheats. Please help him, but he is cheating. I'm not supportive for that.  ??? >:(

Hi no Seijin

That is what you get for trying to take the easy way out.  The fun of the game isn't just defeating the final boss.  It's also the journey along the way.  That's why they have all the temples.  If Nintendo didn't want people to put up with them, they wouldn't put them in there.

INDEED!

Cheating is so stupid... it takes all the challenge out of the game. Cant really brag about beating it after that...

Not necesarily. Cheating after a first, fair playthrough, can enhance ones gaming joy. For instance: Crusader of Might and Magic (or something like that). There's a part where you get the equipment to see a ghostlike enemy, who fights by possessing others. A few other crusaders are possessed. And it just doesn't feel right to leave them like that because by the time you have the cure, you can't help them anymore. So I do use a cheat for that.

Also, skipping parts sometimes isn't that bad. Even if I like every bit of a game, there are always parts I hate because they bring my controller a bit closer to destruction. I'm not sure what it was in either OOT or MM again, but there was something I hated to do, because it feels bad for my controller.

Lokes

meaning, you play on an N64, or you're pretty harsh on your controller.

cheating is hilarious at certain games, but Zelda! Everyone who comitts cheat on Zelda deserves to get their bums smacked!  >:( SHAME ON CHEATING ZELDAPLAYERS!
And you know very well what I mean!

First off I didnt use the gameshark (I don't even have a gameshark), second the reason it skiped to the end is that the madalions had already been gotton, third I figured out what to do and deleted the file and I starting over.

Hi no Seijin

I don't know, Lokes.  LadyNintendo makes a good point in her first paragraph.  Not sure what she's talking about with the controller, though.

The only cheat I would truely like to use is the one I've heard about how you can get a Starfox 64 Arwing to attack you.

Lokes

In games, where cheats is an alternative, and not an actual style of gameplay, I say that it's SUPPOSED to be that way.
Seriously, dont cry for possessed heroes, it's supposed to happen, find another way to do your holy quest.

Cheating is just so lame, though AS I SAID it can be hilarious at certain games, where you just have fun. But to cheat through a storyline game is just bad. I'll nevver surrender my meanings about that.  >:( Certainly not about Zelda!  >:(

Hi no Seijin

If that's how you feel, Lokes, that's how you feel.  No one is certainly going to make you try to cheat on the storyline.

Changing the topic slightly, I thought the Gameshark was evil because it could ruin the game.

In my expirience it did ruin the game. It caused gliches in the programing and I ended up having to delete all three of my files.

I think certain codes in games (like unlocking hilarios costumes or extra enemies or dificulty levels) are ok. However stuff like invinceibility codes or unlimited ammo that make the game too easy shouln't be used.

LadyNintendo

Lokes: Actually, what's the difference between "cheating" and attempting time after time again to archieve something that's not supposed to happen and "breaks" the story. For instance, in CoM&M it doesn't matter a single thing if you help the possessed crusaders or not. You're not supposed to be able to help them and there's no effect if you kill the ghosts. Still, I cheat. However, in Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, there's a Nosferatu that is supposed to be killed. You can barely see him running up to some enemies and get himself killed. It's likely he's the supposed argument what the key to the Nosferatu Warrens is lying there. Still, if you're quick and well-armed, you actually CAN save him. He doesn't speak, give you anything and it doesn't influence the story. Exactly the same as with the crusaders. Could you explain what's so bad about cheating?

About the controller: A lot of games have segments that require something that isn't good for the controller. Like parts that require quick and therefore often rough use of the sticks. Or button bashing parts (tap A quickly). Now, I have seen the cube controller is a lot stronger than I imagined, but I still hate certain parts. In 3D TLOZ, I always try to place the camera in front of Link so I can push the stick down to get him to walk forwards. It's not that handy, but there's a reason why "up" is the first direction that requires more pushing later on. And there's a reason why the A button is a milimeter or 2 lower than the B button.

Lokes

Seriously, I already explained what I feel about cheating, and therefore what I think is so bad about it. Just read a bit above and you'll manage fine.

Hi no Seijin

Hmm, I don't think what you said above can answer this question, Lokes.  If you were given the chance to cheat time to save an innocent life, a life that you will not reward you and one you would never see again, you wouldn't do it?  I mean, sure, if it's their time, then it's their time, but you're given a chance to save a life, so it just may not be their time yet.  That sort of sounds like what LadyNintendo is saying.
