So what's your favorite anime/manga?

Sometimes an anime is actually made BEFORE the manga, or they're made in conjuction.

My favorite explores cyberpunk and overall, dark themes. IT can be termed under the umbrella 'seinen' which means adult. "seinen" is a lot more mature in terms of context and themes...

Now I'm pretty sure everyone else out there will shout "SHONEN!", but be a bit more specific about that, hmm? What types?

For me, some of my favorites include AKira, Ghost in the Shell, Serial Experiments Lain (rather dark), and Boogiepop Phantom (horror/mystery, with very innovative techniques in terms of story telling, things made in a disjointed manner, each episode focusing on a specific character...)

I like Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, (now completed in Japan) Case Closed, InuYasha, (belived to end really soon) and One Piece. I also watch the anime for Mar, Bleach, and Prince of Tennis. Speaking of which, they're on tonight, so by 8:30 I'll be gone.

Mostly Naruto for me, I don't have a lot of time for aniem and such. I do like On Piece though.

I like shonen and shojo.
In particular I like Fruits Basket, Bleach, Naruto and Vampire Knight.

I never underrstood the obsession of watching the anime which the manga is based off of. I mean, I have a friend that spends a lot of time watching Bleach and Naruto, even though she has mangas for both. Yet she will NOT watch the filler episodes, even though the part that she watches is virtually the same as the part she reads...

Taking after the creator's intent, blah...

A bit too ironic for my tastes...

Has anyone heard of Mar? I know Bleach is popular, and Prince of Tennis is known already, but Mar is relatively new to America. Oh, and it's pronounced Mair, not Mar as in Mars.

Yeah, it's good. You won't get it at all unless you watch the first ten episodes, though, which aren't on youtube, I tried. It's official name is MÄR: Märchen Awakens Romance.

I mostly read manga, I have dial-up and 4 television channels ergo I can't watch much anime.

I like: Petshop of Horrors, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Akira, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howls Moving Castle, Ororon, D.N.Angel, One Piece, Chobits, The Get Backers and Battle Royale.

And I quite like a load more.
