March 2003.  At least in North America.  It come out December 2002 for Japan and May 2003 for Europe and Australia.

Nintendo would be run by completely drunken idiots when they decide to ban Zelda.

Luckily, that will NEVER happen. The most likely chance of it's end is the death of an important designer person for the games.
