yes, this has been a very touchy topic for this forum...I don't like all the fighting...

The last time I checked, piss and different forms of the word is cussing.

QuoteI suggest it be locked immediately.

No. That only happens when the topic becomes useless or when a major flame war begins there. Neither happened yet.

QuoteBlame everything for an excuse, and blame your own follies to your own excuses. This is not meant as an insult, it is a commentary on human nature.

I agree people do that. Take McDonalds for example. Someone eats alot of food there and gets fat and/or sick. They don't want responsibility, so they sue. It's THEIR fault for eating it if they knew it would happen and saw it happening.

QuoteBut it seems that you're getting angry at it anyway. A 13 year old makes a point against something people have dedicated their entire lifetimes to.

Do you really think I'm the only person who does anything like this? Every day people criticizes something and the people who like/follow/etc. that something. Take right now, you're criticizing my opinion and I'm critisizing your opinion of my opinion. Terrorists are criticisized for their beliefs, and Muslim terrorists in turn critisize Christianity and Judeisam.(I know I spelled it worng, sorry) People of one religion criticize other ones, and vice versa. Human Emotions are one of the things I predict will corrupt the planet, leading to disputes and wars. This is inevitable, and, as much as anyone hates to admit it, is true. Also, that wasn't a confession.

Also, about the coastal thing, at least in the Gulf did it in about 50 turn into it's original shape to what it is now. China's coast increased by over 200 miles in about 400 years. Yes, this is a completely small thing.  ::) Italy only moved forward a tiny bit, but the peninsula did change. The Netherlands has always constantly changed coasts, mainly becuase of it's major flat surface.

Wait, sorry that took so long, I was halfway into the post when I had dinner. Ironically, halfway through a recording call about global warming came to us.  ;)

And yes, I would like it if we could stop, please. I only stated my opinion, I'm not insulting you.

Okaaaaaaaaaaay...

You know what would be nice? Having a list of words that are BANNED. Saying them would merit  a warning, but using ways to disguise the spelling wouldn't.

Humans have already corrupted the planet. The scientists stand right in the middle, and either side goes about against them, even though their the ones who are most sane.

And this has sort of turned into a flame war, as demonstrated by Shikamaru's sign of distress.

DW

EGADS!!!DISTRESS!!!

Yes, this seems to be a very bad topic to discuss, it is turning into a flame war, as Pickwick said...and  a ban list would be very nice, I am very hesitant to type certain thigns because I am not sure how they will be taken...jokes, for one...

Let's keep our head now and respect the opposing opinions.

I for one am not too sure of Global Warming and whatnot. There is tons of evidence against it and tons supporting it, so I just can't tell.

and it doesn't matter how old Akatsuki is, a 13 year old could have more insight than a 40 year old.

Oh, please. Do you really not see the difference between a thirteen year-old student and a scientist who's dedicated in this particular field? It may sound elitist, but you can't seriously tell me he knows just as much about Global Warming as them?

DW

Insight isn't the same as knowledge.Insight is how you think, you make up your own reasons, not stuff you read in a book. Einstein had an incredible amount of insight, he thought up crazy stuff.

and yes, for all we know, he could be an expert at global warming. It isn't impossible for him to read up on it.

I'm an expert on history!  ;D   I'm a major history buff!   ;)
I'm also rather insane sometimes, believe it or not...  ::)

And, this should be ironic to you, but Einstien actually flunked at math, for those who don't know.  :o  Yet he came up with the lightbulb and recording machines, E=MC2, and the atom bomb idea.

you know what, I was actually going to say that in my post to back you up, but I couldn't think of a way to link it without making my english teacher cry,so I didn't. Yes, everybody said Einstein was crazy, because they couldn't even fathom what went on in his mind. He didn't discover the formula for total energy by knowing stuff, he discovered it by thinking.

Well, I mean, it is possible for Akatsuki to be just a credible, I mena, he can find out both sides of the story from the radio, Internet, and the TV.

Even geniuses have had help solving something. Research is that help.

No, seriously, I'm a history buff!

Here's the thing though, it was THOMAS EDISON that invented the lightbulb and recording machine. He also invented about 3000 other things too.

Albert Einstein was not an inventor; he was a physicist.

Of course, an insightful person shows an awareness of what's going on around him, an awareness to the deepest level and ability  to understand how each affects their own and possesses the ability to give wisdom rather than to deny its existence.

DW

oh yeah, I didn't catch the lightbulb and recording parts or I would have figured that out...did you know that when Einstein was in an insane asylum he put together an amp system for a guitar and strummed it really loud? ;Dthey threw him out and he had to move to another asylum.

Let me say this is a touchy topic. I think most of us could agree to lock this, because when people start fighting, even the smallest bit, it gives people different ideas about other members. Also, nobody is really right here. Until we all die from something like this, nobody will really know who is right. The way I see it, its better not to take chances.

As long as we do our best to take care of the only planet we have, we'll all be okay. And yeah, I'm really going to love me grand-children, so I would like to be able to do something about this. If we get anymore bad will towards members this is going to be locked. Are we clear? And thats a wonderful idea JQ, we really should have a list of words that arent allowed to be said.  However, that would require to say everyone in order to point out what to say. If we do end up making a list, we'll have to stick in the "How bout some rules?" topic in the Announcements thread.

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

Mysterious F.

Sorry, their names both begin with E and confuse me sometimes.  :-*

I'm insightful peron in history according to your definition then, JQ. It's my favorite subject, and I buy history books alot.  :-* I've memorized all of WWII, most of WWI, alot of the Cold War, British Empire, Exploration and Colonial Eras, and am very good at Roman Empire collaspes period, the Crusades, Egypt, Rome, Greece, Mesopotamia, and am interested in Communist China and North Korea, Middle Ages, Native Americans south of central Mexico, Mongol Empire, and Medieval African trading nations, like Songhay.

Also, I would like to say this, it turns out that people actually sailed to the Americas and used the Land Bridge of Beringia. Proof? A small discovered village in central Chile is 12,500 years old, while the oldest one in North America, in Pennsylvania, is 12,000 years old. Also, Chinese style anchors have been found on the coast of Baja California, an area in Mexico. This proves that people reached the Americas before the Vikings (I consider Greenland part of the Americas, and they did land on Canada's coasts) and that Beringia was not the only way to get to the Americas.
