Who or What is the minish cap?

Just who has or is the minish cap? Is it the cap that Vaati stole or is it Ezlo? On the back of the box it says that link "finds" a hat that allwos him to "shrink". Based off of this one would think that Ezlo is the minish cap, is this true?

Yes, Ezlo is the Minish Cap.  I can't remember what the cap Vaati stole was called.

It would be nice if there were a canon clarification on what hat is called what.

Yeah, especially since Ezlo is a hat and he's a Minish, and the hat that Vaati stole was made by a Minish (Ezlo) So both of them could be called the Minish Cap. I even asked Ezlo, but last time I check, Jack hadn't answered any of the Ask Ezlo questions.

Hard to remember, but yes, they did say so, such as Ezlo's small speach to Zelda when she put Vaati's Cap on to wish everything back to normal.

Just wondering, where in the game did he say that? I've nearly beat the game and I don't remember him saying that. Was it at the end?

I just started playing through MC again, and yes, the Minish Cap is the cap that Vaati stole. Ezlo is just Ezlo...

On the START screen, it says, "The Lgend of Zelda: The Minish Cap" and Ezlo is sitting on top of the 'C' in "cap" I believe, I know this doesn't prove much, but wouldn't it be that Ezlo is the Minish Cap if his picture is on the logo?

OMG, just stop arguing! You never actually use the MInish Cap. Just pay attention...Plus, Ezlo is transformed into a cap, so that might also clear things up.
