Who or What is the minish cap?

At zelda.com they have a little promo of the Minish Cap in the right corner and it states: "using the power of a "special hat" , Link is able to shrink and explore the world of the Minish. Since Link never touches the hat Vaati has when he shrinks throughout the entire game, then just what is the Minish Cap. I say it's Ezlo though.

O.K. Vaati, the Minish Cap is worn by Vaati. he stole it from Ezlo. Ezlois the talking hat that you where. SPOILER At the end, Zelda pus on the Minish Cap, and she wishes all the damamge undone. Then it unravels. it says this after yo beat the 2nd boss and are going to hyrule castle.

Horsehead

So why did they make that statement on the box. I mean the King of Hyrule was called the King of Red Lions, but he's still a boat. I say that Ezlo was destined to become a hat, and serve a young new hero, ala, Link.

QuoteOn the START screen, it says, "The Lgend of Zelda: The Minish Cap" and Ezlo is sitting on top of the 'C' in "cap" I believe, I know this doesn't prove much, but wouldn't it be that Ezlo is the Minish Cap if his picture is on the logo?

Then the sword going through the Z in the LTTP title is the Link to the Past, the one in OOT the Ocarina of Time, and King of the Red Lions picture on TWW title is The Wind Waker.

The King of the Red Lions is the King of Hyrule, so it's backwards: the boat is him. That zelda.com stuff isn't proof, Horsehead, but rather just reading the box.

Also, I've just realized that there wasn't a quote at the end saying it was the Minish Cap. If someone can, please go back through the game to when you leave Hyrule Castle after getting the Four Sword upgraded so you can split in two. I think that the quote is there.

I found the quote. It states: "My name is Ezlo, master of Minish lore and sorcery. The Mage's Cap was my creation. But it's limitless power has caused nothing but trouble for your kind." So what does this mean? Either Ezlo is the Minish Cap or Nintendo screwed up their own title. Plus in every other Zelda game, when there's an "item" in the title ala, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, the Wind Waker etc. Link will either use that item or spend half if not the entire game looking for it. In Minish Cap,  Link knows nothing about Vaati's Cap having magical powers until Ezlo sheds a little light on his past.

OMG, just stop arguing! You never actually use the MInish Cap. Just pay attention...Plus, Ezlo is transformed into a cap, so that might also clear things up.

We weren't arguing. At least I wasn't. I just wanted to make sure.  ::)

Mysterious F.

Horsehead, it was NEVER capitalized, which gives the quote a different meaning. He just said that the mage's cap was made by him, this was a PRONOUN, not the actual name.

I guess we'll never know, then, huh?

Vaati

I think Ezlo is the Minish Cap because this is what I saw on Zelda .com, which is the officiall website. "Using the power of a special hat called the Minish Cap, Link can shrink and explore the magical world of the Minish -- tiny people who live just beneath his feet!" And here's the link to prove it. http://zelda.com/universe/

Mysterious F.

I think that's what's written on the box, actually. There's actually no proof which is which, so we'll never know.

Master Dragmire

Ezlo is not the Minish Cap.
Vaati has the Minish Cap.
In the cut scene showing Vaati using the Minish Cap to turn Ezlo into a cap, its say nothing about Ezlo being the Minish Cap.
Also,
the caption from the box is as follows,
"Use the magic of the cap to shrink and explore the world of the Minish lying hidden beneath your feet!"
The description for Ezlo is as follows,
"A mysterious creature tha Link meets during his adventure. He chatters away noisily at Link. He can be quite fussy, but he does seem to know what he's talking about."
The description for and shrinking/growing is as follows,
"Climb onto a portal to have Ezlo shrink you...."

Never in there does it mention that Link actually uses the cap itself, but only its power and magic. Ezlo created the Minish Cap, so obviously he has the power.
The box simply implies that for spoiler reasons. Technically Ezlo is a minish cap, but all minish wear caps :p

I know it was written in the box, so what? Zelda.com is an official website, so I'd think it would be pretty reliable.

DW

Yes, you can rely on it to copy the box perfectly. It still doesn't prove anything.

Yes, if another site put the box up in a corner (legally, to add) then what you're saying means this is proof, so if a non-Zelda site itself does this then it's complete proof.

Vaati

Actually, I think it was just a link to another page on that site. I'm pretty sure.

I'll go check.

Yep, it was only a link, and that was just a general description of the game. And Vaati has a magic cap too, so this 'proof' is disbanded.
