Mabye the point of the trees the Koroks plant is to drain the water and create one big island?  ???

Uh, is that really even possible? Firstly, that water has to go somewhere, you can't just magick it away. You know, Conservation of Mass/Energy and all that.

Secondly, even if they somehow could get rid of all that water, how are they gonna manage to get it all? They're on the top of friggin' mountains, for god's sake! What're they gonna use, giant straws? They are trees after all.

Really, sometimes I think people don't even think about these crazy theories they spout out. :-*

DW

This isn't our universe, the Law of Conservation doesn't apply here...

Commodore Axilon

Woah, déjà vu. I believe we've had this discussion before. ;D

DW

Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis? ;D

Seriously though...and actually they water could be lowered...it would take a very long and tedious process though, the hydrogen and oxygen molecules would have to be seperated and used in different compounds and such...Through magic I suppose they could accomplish this.

Commodore Axilon

But it's still there. Even if you convert it into another chemical compound, it'll still take up space.

And is there really any evidence that the Deku Tree or his saplings could do any of this? They're just talking trees, people. Suggesting they're capable of exotic alchemical processes would drastically go against Occam's Razor, seeing as how there's absolutely no evidence for Spirits being capable of such things. Last I checked, they were just immortal beings with minor magical powers, nothing godlike here.

Mysterious F.

These trees are magical. And they aren't immortal, as seen in OOT.

I think the Deku Tree hinted the purpose of the trees in TWW. He said that they would make more forests. These are tiny islands they plant them on, so a big forest isn't very possible. Mabye they shall drain the water and form one big island.

DW

Maybe they are going to make a huge treetop village out of them, like on Kashyyyk.

Wow, I had no idea "minor magical powers" meant non-magical, Whocares. Just because they're capable of magic doesn't mean they can do whatever the heck they want. Everything has limits, Whocares.

And immortal doesn't mean invincible. For instance, the Elves in LotR are immortal, yet they can still be killed.

Or maybe he's just really optimistic.

Shikaboose wins this thread. This idea is made of all kinds of win.

Mr. bubbles

I just thought of somthing. If the gods created The Great Sea can't they destroy it ?
I Like Pie.

DW

The Gods didn't make the great sea. From what I gather, It was a plea using the Triforce by Zelda or the King. Probably it would take another wish on the Triforce to remove the water.

It's not a theory, it's canon. It's stated in the game.

No it's not because anything that anyone says regarding the future, if they have shown no prior evidence of being able to see into the future...and be correct, is not canon. You wanna know why? Because it hasn't happened yet! And there's no evidence that it actually did happen either. Remember it was just the Deku Tree's dream. You're treating it as if it was some sort of infallible premonition, or something.

And besides, it doesn't even make any sense. What're the trees gonna do, create land to fill up the space between all those islands?

Mysterious F.

They are trees, trees drink water, they drain water, more land appears.

Penguin dude 2

I thought trees couldn't drink salt water. Like this forest I saw that was all dead because it big wave of salt water washed through it.

Fishalicious

It depends more on the actual tree. Some trees have very thick bark or roots, and wouldn't be affected by saltwater that much.
