Well, so new members will know when their posts will lead to things other than Hireling, here's the system:

Hireling - 0-50 posts
Apprentice Thief - 51-100 posts
Expert Thief - 101-250 posts
Master Thief - 251-500 posts
Lone Wolf Thief - 501+ posts

Also note the star next to each poster's name. The star is there to signify what rank you are. Everytime you go up a rank, you get a new star. Mods have green stars that are always five, whether or not they are a Lone Wolf Thief. Jack has red stars instead.

4 more and Expert Thief!!  ;D

Hi no Seijin

I feel inclined to say that this knowledge is not an invitation to spam to get to the level you want.  But I shouldn't have to tell you all that, right? *wink*

Of course, just because you're a lone wolf thief, you're not automatically better than someone of lower rank.  A hireling could be better than you if the hireling makes well writen posts while you write short posts that have no relevance to the topic at hand.

Phantompig was once a mod, yes? He has three stars now... Not sure if he got boosted up automatically to 5,  because even now, it says Lone Wolf Thief on your rank, whocares.

As said, you get five green stars if you're a mod, and the only way to look at your post rank is to look at the words written above the stars.

Whats a Cohort and why do some people have blue stars?

A cohort is The Desert Colossus's version of a forum moderator.  They are veteran members who have been given the responsibility and the power to basically keep the peace here-- and to help out the newer members.  If you have any questions or concerns here, feel free to ask either one of the Cohorts or the administrator.  We're always here to help you out.

The people with the blue stars are the Cohorts.  We used to have green, but there was a usergroup error that forced us to use blue.

Hope that helps.  :)

HylianHero92

Thanks for clearing that up!

How do you become a Cohort??? Would I have to ask an admin and they'd think about it or would I just get picked out? Admittedly, I have had a long break and spammed alot with Medli in the past but I like to think my ways have changed, but I have been a member since 2006 and I don't know if that makes me a veteran but you know...think about it.

P.S. I know this is reviving a topic but I couldn't think where else to put it and I didn't want to start a new topic just for that :)

Hi no Seijin

We're actually good on mods.

However, should one of them quit or be kicked off of the mod squad, then Gamefreak would pick out a mostly active member who knows the rules and can be trusted to enforce them.

ahhh right. Thank you very much HnS. Is it a difficult job or is it more of a vigilant thing...I mean if I do become one in the future does it mean I'll have to check each and every post for rule breaking or would I just deal with it as and when I stumbled upon it during my visits??

Gamefreak

Things have been pretty quiet over the last few months.

I don't think we go through each and every post to check for rule breaking.  They're usually caught while reading up on topics.

But if you see a rule breaking post that hasn't been dealt with, feel free to report it to the moderators or myself.

Shadow Ganon

Ahhhh right. Thank you for all your help, I know it's off topic but I would like to thank you and HnS very much for the information you have provided

Greatness, if a topic hasn't been posted in for a long time, I'd recommend making sure that your post could greatly contribute to the topic on-hand, or else not posting it at all.  Otherwise, it could be looked upon as spamming.  Know what I mean?
