Rumors persist that Twilight Princess will be coming out for the Revolution rather than GameCube.

Discuss.

Makes sense.  What'd happen to it though?  Would the graphics be better than previewed to be?

medli

NO,NO,NO!the tp is definently coming for cube and maybe revolution too!

I'm not too sure about it, and either way sounds great to me. ;D If it's for Gamecube, we get it sooner, if it's for Revolution, we'll be able to really swing that sword around! And to me that sounds so sweet.

But personally I'd lean towards it still coming out for the Gamecube. I've got two main reasons for this:

1) Nintendo promised us (repeatedly) that it would not be a Revolution title; it will be for Gamecube. They're going to make a ton of fans angry with them if they break that multitude of promises. Fans might not get angry enough to leave Nintendo, but they could quite easily decide to 'try out' some of the competition. That only hurts Nintendo in the long run.

2) The controller issue. Unless Nintendo has known for a long time that they were going to have TP for the Revolution (I doubt that that's the case; they wouldn't have made all those promises), they will have to completely re-adapt the game for the new controller. That's a ton of time making the NGC fighting system down the drain, and a ton more making a new system for the Revolution.

Of course, I'm just a kid in high school, so I have no idea how big these two issues are in the mind of the Nintendo people. It could be really simple to alter the programming to respond to the Revolution controller. No se. But I really don't think it looks like a wise idea from a business stand point to put it on the Revolution.

Though, as I said, I'm really fine either way. ;)

I dont wanna have to save up enopugh money to buy a copy of TP and a Revolution. Im leaning tword the fact that it is a gamecube title!

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

What I would like to see is a situation much like the Oracle games where the game was for one system (in this case GameCube) but has new special features when played on the new system (Revolution). Considering the GameCube will be obsolete by the end of the year, it'd make sense to adapt the mega Zelda game coming out this year for the Revolution somewhat.

OOC: Jack, hate to break it to you, but that comparison is somewhat lacking. I mean, in the Oracle games (as far as I know), the only extra you got for playing it on a GBA was that special store that  really only sold you another ring...not enough incentive to go and buy a GBA. It wasn't for me, anyway.

I do agree that such an idea would be really great. However, I've heard a ton of people online, at EDN's forums especially, saying that they don't believe they'll have enough money to buy a Revolution when it comes out. They won't be able to use any added features, and that'll only upset and annoy them. Upsetting and annoying the fans, as I've already stated, isn't the best of ideas.

I don't know how to resolve this. Such an 'upgrade', I suppose you could call it, would be awesome, but it'd have to be something really special if Nintendo expects people to be interested enough to try it out. And if it's that special...well then, the people without Revolutions will get really annoyed that they can't do it.

Oh yeah, definitely alpha, but I meant way more than just a new shop. Nintendo does want to convince people to buy a brand new system to access the new stuff afterall.

What they should add is compatability with the new controller, a new shop (sure), new items, a new dungeon (like LA's Color Dungeon where you can get a new rare item) and extras like an image gallery, ability to view cutscenes over and over again, etc. That would make many rush out to get the Revolution.

But I agree that TP's sales will definitely suffer if the game is released soley on the Revolution. It'd be a very bad business decision.

Somehow i doubt Gamecube will become obsolete Because nintendo has dealed with this before. Way back when, The gaming systems came out called SNES, and N64. When the N64 came out with all of its glory, Nintendo continued making games for the SNES, which was a smart move, Because they would have most likely angered fans. I believe they will hang onto game cube for quite a while before they abandon it.

It won't be solely on the revolution because:
1) THe rev plays every nintendo game
2) They don't have enough time to calibrate the controller
3) The release date is set BEFORE the rev's.

That's the deal on that. It would be neat to see the bow and arrow on the rev, because of its point and aim system. Neato. And you got like 100 buttons on the dang thing. You could set every item in the bag to it! Just like metroid... No switching 40 times per second...
Oh, Hi Al. Throw that rock.

Zelda Veteran

I think they are making the controller too complex. I dont like the remote style layout. And they will probably cost an arm and a leg.
