about Rauru, and KG, and other things about Sages

First of all, I do completely apologize if this happens to be in the wrong section, but it has to do with sages in general.

My question regards Rauru, obviously.

QuoteLink...
Wake up...
Link, the chosen one...

I am Rauru, one of the ancient
Sages...
Ages ago, we ancient Sages
built the Temple of Time to
protect the entrance to the
Sacred Realm...
This is the Chamber of Sages,
inside the Temple of Light...
The Temple of Light, situated in
the very center of the Sacred
Realm, is the last stronghold
against Ganondorf's evil forces.
The Master Sword--the evil-
destroying sword that you pulled
out of the Pedestal of Time--was
the final key to the Sacred Realm.
Link...
Don't be alarmed...
Look at yourself...!

Look Link!
You're big now!!
You've grown up!

The Master Sword is a sacred
blade which evil ones may never
touch....
Only one worthy of the title of
"Hero of Time" can pull it from
the Pedestal of Time....
However, you were too young to
be the Hero of Time....
Therefore, your spirit was
sealed here for seven years.
And now that you are old enough,
the time has come for you to
awaken as the Hero of Time!
Well, do you understand your
destiny?
Yes
No

Right, it looks like you are
confused... Let me tell you
again, from the beginning.

But, remember...
Though you opened the Door of
Time in the name of peace...
Ganondorf, the Gerudo King of
Thieves, used it to enter this
forbidden Sacred Realm!
He obtained the Triforce from
the Temple of Light, and with its
power, he became the King of Evil...
His evil power radiated from the
temples of Hyrule, and in seven
short years, it transformed Hyrule
into a world of monsters.
My power now has only little
influence, even in this Sacred
Realm...
Namely, this Chamber of Sages.
But there is still hope...
The power of the Sages remains.
When the power of all the Sages
is awakened...
The Sages' Seals will contain
all the evil power in the void of
the Realm...
I, Rauru, am one of the Sages...
And...
Your power to fight together with
the Sages makes you the
Hero of Time!
The Hero of Time, chosen by the
Master Sword!
Keep my spirit with you...
And, find the power of the other
Sages and add their might to your
own!

So, about Rauru.
Someone posted a theory about him being dead or something, and this says nothing about that, correct?

And also, if Rauru is an ancient sage, does that mean he could be from around Kaepora Gaepora's time?
I mean, the gossip stone says he is an ancient sage reincarnated, correct?

Anyways, my real question is:
If Rauru is eternally in the Sacred Realm, where did one of the six maidens come from, as they are descended from the  sages.

Also, and if they are descended from the sages, how did they transform from being like Gerudo/Kokori/Goron/etc.

I understand that WW introduces the possibility of reincarnation, but if I recall the correctly, one of the other games stated explicitly that they were direct descendants.

And Rauru said he was an ancient sage, and implied he was the only light sage, and so if he was so ancient and so sealed away in the Sacred Realm, then where did his "direct descendants" come from?!

Because otherwise that would imply that he had kids, and that would mean they would be the sages instead of he, right?

So what happened there?

And is it Rauru's body or his spirit in the sacred realm?

And is it the other sages (Darunia, Saria, Ruto, etc) body's or is it their spirits in the sacred realm?

And if that is so, then why didn't they just bound their spirits to the sacred realm like the ancient sage Rauru did?

I don't understand how they could have died, unless someone in Hyrule can kill spirits.

Or did I misinterpret what Rauru said of being an "ancient sage"?

And just so it's out there, I just don't think Rauru = KG.

Bboy94

Rauru had kids, (he had a very impressive social life when he was young) but then he went to the Sacred Realm and the other ancient sages left him there to guard it. Since he apparently didn't die, then his descendents didn't become sages until he eventually did. The other sages... interbreeding? Also, maybe thier reincarnation's descendants were the maidens, and the legend just changed after time.

I think KG = Another sage from Rauru's time.

Erik Destler

That's what I think too, regarding KG.
However, if Rauru is an ancient sage, then how did he die?

I mean, ancient implies...one of the first, to me.

So, if he was around for so long, how did he "die'"?

and lol interspecies breeding :<

Bboy94

Well wouldn't you commit suicide from boredom after guarding a gate from thousands of years? This also explains why Rauru took the time to make new adult clothes for Link.

Erik Destler

teehee.

Also, I just realized::

Regarding timelines:
What happened to the other two sages that were introduced in Wind Waker?

It's always six maidens.
Why isn't it eight?

I never got the impression that the two sages in TWW had anything to do with the sages in OoT/ALttP/etc.. All they basically did was pray to the gods so the Master Sword would retain its power to repel evil, yes?

Erik Destler

true,  but they still are needed, aren't they?

and also regarding the thing about rauru's body..

Hmm. So he is dead?!

But I dont think he is KG, still. :[

Mangas aren't cannon. *cannon banned shield generator*
As in they don't count.

Yeah, they weren't of THE sages. They were just other random sages.

Canon, good sir.

Canon, is the correct spelliing.

And yes, I do agree; they didn't seem to be affiliated with the sages, I don't think. It's been a while since I played that part in WW. ^^;

It specifically states the 6 miandens desended from 6 wise men.

Aside from Ruaru and Darunia, they are all women. It is more likely it is talking about 6 diffrent sages, who were all men.

More likely, people didn't know their genders and assumed it was men (because women can't do anything important!).

Well, to be fair, that was fixed in the GBA version. There they're referred to as just the gender-neutral "sages".

Edit: Oh, and I think there was a reason he put up a "cannon banned shield generator", Fisk.

Thats not it at all. I'm not assuming they are men. It says men. Thus they must be men.

Bboy94

I'm talking about the Hyrulians/Humans. Before the women's rights thing, when talking about men and women, you just used the masculine, like in other languages. And they were trying to make Zelda look like the middle ages, sort of world.
