Yes, I've gotten another NES Zelda game! Last Tuesday, I went to eBay, and after much blood, sweat, and tears (not literally, of course, but it was more difficult than you'd think), I finally found a copy of this game that I liked. It's a gold cartridge, like my copy of The Legend Of Zelda, and it arrived this Tuesday! I've been playing it a lot ever since, but I've noticed right away that it's difficult. I love the side-scrolling aspects of it; it makes it very unique. Plus, it's just like an RPG, which means I can power-up different abilities, like magic. In spite of how difficult it is, it's a lot of fun! Let me fill you in on my progress...

Okay, so far, I've beaten the first palace, and got another heart container. My life is up to four, magic up to three, and sword up to three. I've got the shield spell and the jump spell, and the candle. Now I just need to figure out what to do next.

This topic also marks my 100th official post in this forum!
What, you expect me to say something witty?

That's great! :) (Hey, if you ever happen to get the candle, tell me how, okay? 'Cause I'm stuck.  ;) )

The candle is in the first palace. After you enter, go right until you come across an elevator. Go down, and go left until you come across that red dude who throws stuff at you. You'll have to defeat him and the Darknut-type thing behind him. Once you do, keep going left, and you'll come across the candle. Now you can enter caves and see what you're doing!

Parapa Palace, I believe. It's the one at the top right of the overworld view, in the desert.

Hmm...thanks. Even though I'm never really going to play for a long time because it's kinda a crappy game. But thanks anyway.

Crappy? I must disagree. Different, yes, but by no means crappy. It is rather the dark horse of the Zelda series, though...

Anyways, I've made a little bit of progress! I've gotten the Life spell. The only hard part is using it at the right time.

You know, if you use timing and cast the life spell right BEFORE getting a magic container, you can heal yourself (almost) completely in most cases, while still getting a full magic refill.

MagmarFire

Plus, you can try to use Life right as the magic bar is filling up to get a free life spell, but only if you don't have high to full MP, in which case it would stop filling up on you.

But it's a great game, really. :)

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Ah, Adventure of Link.  The odd child of the Legend of Zelda family.  As Mases of Zelda Dungeon said, it never gets the respect that it deserves.

i couldnt get to the 2nd level  :'(  my brother makes plots in the old games for me

TAOL is one of my favourites. Its story is good, unique and modest (the latter is something that cannot be said about most other TLOZ stories). The gameplay is challenging. The music is awesome and the graphics, for its time, sweet. And the overworld has to be one, if not the biggest of all TLOZ games. It's a shame a lot of elements from this game never returned in the sequels.

Gamefreak

I wasn't the biggest fan of the side-scrolling part, but other than that, it's one of the better early Zelda games.

Zelda Veteran

Well, if anything, it introduced the magic meter, which truly rawked. I got all the way past the second palace, and I had lots of items. I entered the graveyard area, and got eaten alive by an endless amount of invincible poes. Afterwords, lightning struck, we lost our power, and my memory card was wiped. Haven't played the game since :P

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

TP Zelda

I know, don't you just hate it when that happens, ZV? I don't play something for a while after I lose progress. ARGH!! XP
