Okay, so my Dad took me to a few game stores on Saturday. Here's what I came back with...

At Game Force, I bought "Halo: Combat Evolved" ($15.00) and "Project Gotham Racing" ($2.00). In terms of controllers, I couldn't find anything other than no-name, third-party controllers. At least I got both of the games I wanted, though! On to Game Crazy...

At Game Crazy, I picked up an Xbox Controller S ($15.00). I really wanted to get one of those "Duke" controllers (the mammoth-sized controller the Xbox originally came with) because I liked them more, but since I couldn't find one, we decided to move on. For now, I just needed a working controller. But just to see what they had and how their prices were, we also went to Game Stop.

At Game Stop, I found a "Duke" controller. And what was more, it was only ten bucks! Doh! It was a real *facepalms* moment. But since it was the one I wanted, I bought it. I decided I'd just leave the Controller S in the Game Crazy bag, just in case I can get full credit for it since I never opened it, and use the "Duke."

When I got home, I tested the "Duke" controller with the racing game my Xbox came with, and it worked. Then I tested "Project Gotham Racing..." it didn't work. It just said "Your Xbox can't recognize this disc." It was nothing less than a disappointment. "Halo" worked with no issues though, so I started playing it. It's an amazing game. Really addictive and fun.

I took "Project Gotham Racing" back to Game Force. They cleaned it, and they tested it in their Xbox. No problems. However, when I tested it on my Xbox, it just said "You need the DVD Playback Kit to watch movies. Remove the disc to continue." After many times of ejecting the disc and swapping it with a working disc, I finally got it to play. However, I have to do this every time I want to play it. I guess I need a new disc...

On a side note, I'm honestly not sure why so many people disliked the "Duke." I love it! It's surprisingly comfortable, and it fills out my hands, which I love in a controller. It's awesome for "Halo."
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Okay, so my Dad

Oh, so I'm not related to you anymore??

Okay then!! I'll just go over to Alex-nii-san's house and we can swap... His sister will replace me.  :D

Just because it's your dad doesn't mean it can't be his dad too, Emo...

You're so cold... I just like the style...

DW

...We aren't calling you Emo, that was just one of your names a while ago...and you like a lot of emo things, if you haven't noticed...Also, your new name is also painfully long...

Well, I'm sorry to get back on topic, but I've figured out a use for the broken Xbox controller I have: I will cannibalize part of it and create an awesome PC gaming controller! Since the Xbox controller has a USB-based plug, I'm going to use the breakaway cable from my broken controller, cut off the end that plugs into the Xbox, put a USB plug in its place, and with the adapter, use my "Duke" controller as a PC game pad!
What, you expect me to say something witty?
