I think my TV died.

I was going to play a game on my Saturn earlier today, since I had a few minutes of free time. Everything was normal until I tried turning on my TV. I pressed the power button, and it made a noise like it was going to turn on, then *click!* Nothing. No picture, no sound, nothing. The power light, which is usually always on, went out. The TV is plugged into a power strip, but everything else plugged into it was working with no issues. The very same thing happened to me last week, too (the night I got my Xbox), but that time, I was able to get it working by plugging it into a different outlet on the strip, then plugging it into the one it was in originally. Not this time. Nothing I tried got it working again. It's not like I use my TV to death, either. It's not used any more so than the other TVs we have, which have never had issues.

So now I have a dead TV, and I've had to relocate my Saturn and my Xbox (the two systems I use the most) to the basement. Great.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

MagmarFire

Geez, that must've been irritating for you. ???

How old is your dead TV?

Basements are win.

The TV sitting in my room is about as old as I am and it still works.  Of course, since it's in my room, I don't get all of those fancy channels that I would get if I was out in the living room, but now, if I so desire, I can play Majora's Mask while my sister watches the ever so lame Disney Channel.

EDIT:  Gah, I forget words in AIM and put them on TDC. ???

RIP TWILIGHT WOLF'S TELEVISION

He was so young too. :(

I remember when my TV died.  I had a formal funeral for it in my backyard (Selective audience only) and had a 21 gun salute.  Then the police decided to come mourn for it too.

They have odd ways of showing grief though.

(Disturbing the peace?  lolwut?)

Hi no Seijin

Man, they need to have lessons on how to mourn.

I had a TV at the creepy house next door that was ancient... little knobs everywhere? It was grand. We got rid of it, I think.

I wish your television goodnight... forever. <3

DW

The Egyptians, now they knew how to mourn. Shaving their eyebrows...

I had my radio crap out on me once. It wasn't a nice radio, but it died young... Only 23 years old (radio years).

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

MagmarFire

Haha! "Radio years"? Genius! :P

Thanks for the sympathy and good wishes, everyone. Actually, my TV wasn't even three years old. It would have been, if it had waited until after my birthday (which is about a month away) to kick the bucket.

My dad and I are going to open it up sometime this weekend and see if we can figure out what happened to it. Sort of an autopsy, I suppose. My dad thinks a fuse inside it might have blown, but if it had, how come it did this once before, and then came back to life? He seems to know more about electronics than I do, though, so we'll see.

Just wondering, But i"m curious about where your dad went to College, what Degree he got, his major and so forth.

JQ, our dad teaches how to fix small engines (sumut like that). He can't be that bad.

And LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL to ZV about "radio years" lol

...and how much are radio years?

...Because cat years are 7.

Twilight Wolf

Even though Dad is an absolute wizard when it comes to engines, they have pretty much nothing to do with electronics... My dad is pretty good with electronics, though. He's fixed a lot of stuff, actually, and he's great with diagnostic work.
