Yes, I know this is my second topic in a day, but this one has the potential for real discussion value.

Anyways, I know some of you out there are fans of Portal. Well, I am too! I decided to buy a copy of it after seeing it at Wal-Mart for twenty bucks, and after a whole day of struggle attempting to get it to run on my laptop (lousy Intel graphics card...), I unearthed a code on the Valve forums that let me run the game. I became addicted to it instantly, and I made it almost to the end; however, I'm now hopelessly stuck on the second to last level.

So, how many of you on the forums are fans of Portal?
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Fishalicious

I love the game a great deal, though I don't play it a lot. (no 360/PC that can run it, you see)

It's a FPS, which I usually don't like, but it had enough puzzles to keep me entertained for more than 3 seconds.

Gamefreak

#2
Still Alive stands as the single biggest video game song to torment me by not leaving my mind.

Playing Rock Band doesn't help either because Still Alive is on there too.

Twilight Wolf

I'm gonna dive back into this game and try to overcome the obstacle I'm now facing as soon as the Xbox 360 controller I ordered gets here (the wired ones can double as a PC gaming controller, you see). Keyboard and mouse control is nice, but analog control might help me out. Plus, a gamepad feels more natural to me.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Keaton

I've actually just achieved a new record.  I completed Portal in close to 45 minutes-- from beginning to very very end.

Rev Rabies

Haha, it's one of my favorite games, now if they ever make it as a standalone disc, or downloadable game, on the 360, i'll deffinately get it

Axel

Wow. I feel really left out. To be honest I have no idea what this game is. I never heard of it till I opened the topic. Now I know what game I went to get...

Twilight Wolf

I think you'll love it, JDog. If you decide to get The Orange Box, be sure to get the Xbox 360 version of it, as I've heard the PS3 version has issues with Portal. If you get Portal as a stand-alone PC game, make sure your computer can run it.

You know what? I'm going to go play Portal.

Intel makes Graphics Cards?

Twilight Wolf

Apparently so. I had no idea until I discovered that even though the laptop I use is pretty much optimal for running Portal, the graphics card is not fully compatible with Valve's games.

Twilight Wolf

And have another incompatible-with-my-graphics-card game? I don't know... I might pick it up someday, regardless.

Well, this is a topic about Portal, and since I have nothing new to say about it (except for the fact that I'm still hopelessly stuck), I'm gonna come back later.

Wierd.
Get Team Fortress 2!

that game would have been much better, if you could play against computers, because i didn't have much access to xbox live, so i could never play it except once or twice

You couldn't play the game with bots...
It's TEAM Fortress, not Single Player Fortress.
The game isn't built to be played with bots, nor would it be very fun to play.

Rev Rabies

Actually it'd be really fun to play it's just like playing unreal tournament with bots.

And you're still in a team, just with bots, team doesn't imply that the group is all people
