Did you know that when the first people came to North America there were no animals here?  Nothing but humans could make it on the long trip across the ocean, so they couldn't just bring any critters over with them.  Studies indicate that there was actually a meteor that carried all the fauna that exists in America today down to the earth.  The meteor was said to be a chunk from one of Saturn's moons.
