I can't believe nobody noticed this before me...
In MM how does the banker in Clock Town keep your money? If you deposit 1 rupee on the last second of the last day, you'll still have that 1 rupee after you play the song of time. Did the banker travel through time with you?! Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance!  :D

Zelda Veteran

Well, they needed a banking system in the game, or you'd lose money every time you traveled back. I decided not to question it.  :)

My real Poison team in BW2. They all have perfect natures and EV's. I went the extra distance and bred the right IV's into them. Come at me bro.

HylianHero92

Well I suppose your right, but the guy too?! The guy clearly remembers you and your deposits! On the first day you talk to him and become a registered costumer. Why doesn't that reset with the song of time?!

MagmarFire

Because the stamp that he puts on you when you first see him is still on you when you go back. That stamp is what he uses to identify you with, and I assume that's how he sees your deposits.

But his deposit wouldn't be there. I think that's the point.

And it's just a game mechanic, guys. There's really no need to over think this.

MagmarFire

Sure, they wouldn't HAVE his deposits. If it's like any other bank, though, then they're going to have money there for borrowing and lending.

Then again, he did say that everyone hardly deposits anymore...

Actually, what if he marks on his forehead stamp however many rupees he has?

Just a thought. o:

That would mean he has an insanely large amount of cash that Link takes how many rupees he had from. But if he had no costumers, why wouldn't he take the money himself?!

Fishalicious

Because that's embezzlement... it's not his money to take.

It's like working at a restraunt and saying "oh, I have no customers, so I'll just take the money from the register!"

In reality, it's a game mechanic and I don't really think the team really went so far as to have a specific reason for him being able to keep money.

HylianHero92

Well fine then!

I admit defeat :'(

Also, speaking as the resident MM Nazi, I've got to agree with everyone else in this thread.  According to the Majorum Dramaticum Appendix B:  List of Canonical Resources, the banker was simply a way to preserve your cash.  Nothing that could possibly affect any theory whatsoever.
