A few weeks ago, as some of you may know, I had an operation for an implant to  be placed in connection with my left ear.

Before, my left ear could give little more but silence, but now... Now I have the cochlear implant, the external equipment... And now I can truly hear the higher registers of the music I have. Before I heard only silence in those places and that often frustrated me...

But now...

MagmarFire

So your auditory perception has improved!? That's great, JQ! :)

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Darth Wyndisis

That's great!  Hope it continues to go well for you.

Takun

Thats cool man. Happy to hear that you can stop being frustrated.

That was a pun. Heh. Hehe. Heh.  :-*

Anyway, I'm really glad for you, JQ. I hope this really makes you happy!  :)

Congrats, dood!  I'm so glad that you can now use music to get high...

Twilight Wolf

I'm very happy for you, JQ. I know you love your music, and now that you can enjoy it to an even greater depth, that must be a wonderful feeling.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Gamefreak

I'm glad to see that you can hear.

I can't imagine what it must be like to go from being deaf to being able to hear.

darkphantomime

Granted, it's not full hearing just yet. It will take time and practice before I'll be able to understand what people say.

Then there's the right ear which is still losing hearing level, but still much better than the left ear without the implant.

Mysterious F.

I am happy that you are now able to hear things (at least better than before).

Takun

So why are you losing your hearing? Or has it always been at a low level?

darkphantomime

Genetic disorder called Mitochondrial Myopathy. My specific myopathy effects my vision, hearing, and my energy level.

Takun

At what rate does your seeing and hearing decrease? If you don't mind me asking that is.

darkphantomime

I don't think there's a define 'rate'. I really don't know how such a rate would  be even calculated.
