So they think I've cracked from stress. I've been blacking out, and getting uncontrollable headaches that throb and throw to the ground wherever I'm standing when they hit. I've been having a stiff neck, and I ran a fever the other day as well. I have to go see a Neurosurgeon, or as I like to call him, a witch-doctor (because he'll be poking around in my brain. The little spasms hit at random times, so I'm scared its going to happen while I'm at school. Wish me luck

Spasms? Blacking out? Throbbing headaches?

You're probably gonna get an EEG, they'll put a whole bunch of electrodes all over your head and they'll tell you to close your eyes while they turn a strobe light on to flash very fast.

Probable Diagnosis: Epilepsy.

For those who don't speak "those who don't speak medical":  Brain scan.

I agree with the epilepsy diagnosis, but that doesn't mean it's correct.  Sort of like how every child who eats too much chocolate is ADD or ADHD.

that doesn't really compare at all, Tacheon. If he blacks out at random, then it's a pretty good sign that he has some kind of epilepsy-related disorder. Narcolepsy even. But he doesn't fall asleep at random and there are the tremors...

and an EEG is NOT a brain scan. It only shows brain waves, they tend to go really erratic when you're having a seizure.

MRI and CT ARE brain scans where the brain is literally scanned. I've had like half a dozen MRIs by now, and every time it turns out normal.

Butterfly Effect Reference?
I used to have really bad migraines when I was younger. And I still get tiny tremors in my arms and legs from time to time. And if I where your mom, I would keep you home from school. It'll be fine, it usually is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't stiff neck caused by bacteria? I heard it was, but I question it. If it is, maybe you have an infection, among other things? It could explain the fevers, too, if this is the case... I kinda doubt it, though...

I would think a stiff neck is caused by pulling a muscle or something like that.

Not so sure about that... Last time I got stiff neck, it was after waking up to what looked like the result of my neck being in one place all night. Took a few days to get rid of, though, so I don't see how it could be lactic acid, either.

Bad news. I looked up the symptoms and they all lead to a disease commonly found in teenagers called "Meningitis". You can get it from exchanging any kind of body fluid with someone, and that means you can get it from even just being around them. I'm so friggin scared >.<

My friend says if I actually had meningitis, I wouldn't be able to walk around and talk, and go to school and whatnot. He says its caused from the brain fluid and spinal fluid retracting or something, and it could cause paralysis. I don't know what to do besides wait for the doctor's appointment to roll around

You poor thing, I really hope this goes well for you.
I've heard of meningitis, but we've had the jabs for the most common types while at school, there are lots of different strains, but with nearly all of them if you catch it early enough it's quite easily curable.
But I sincerely hope it's not meningitis.
