"When Hyrule was created by the three goddesses at the beginning of time, there were certain side effects of its creation which Din, Nayru and Farore did not anticipate. As the three holy women breathed life into the world and chased away Emptiness, their potent breath slipped through tiny cracks in the folds of space and created millions of alternate worlds in the process. One of these worlds became the land known as Termina"
                          -Zelda.com, the official site

HA!

Keaton

You are of course aware that that site is NOT owned by Nintendo, and as such is not a valid resource?

Commodore Axilon

I"m pretty curious as to why he made a new topic when he could've just replied in the original one.

HylianHero92

Because Tacheon never made a topic (that I know of) about his idea Termina is all in Link's head.

Commodore Axilon

Oh, I thought you were talking about the recent one he made about Termina and the events of MM being in a different time rather than a different place.

My bad.

Are you aware that it actually is, as it has the familiar Nintendo logo near the bottom.

Well, it's not necessarily HARD to put a logo at the bottom of a webpage.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

HylianHero92

Why would they lie about being the official site?

Keaton

EVERYBODY says EVERYTHING'S the official site.  WE'RE the official Desert Colossus.

MagmarFire

Besides, it's probably because of publicity. If your site is thought to be the "official site," you'll probably get a lot more hints because, "lol teh sites offishul!" It makes sense to me, anyway.

Don't you think that Nintendo would send some sort of "cease and desist" notice to sites falsely claiming to be official, though? Zelda is one of their properties, so they'd want to protect it.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Keaton

They probably haven't noticed/don't care.

Twilight Wolf

You don't think anyone at Nintendo ever noticed a website called Zelda.com? A website bearing the title of one of their biggest franchises going completely under Nintendo's radar for years? I'm very doubtful of that, and I'm even more doubtful that Nintendo wouldn't care about it claiming to be official if it wasn't. It's not like it's a small Geocities website that anyone can make and only a few people will ever see, it's Zelda.com. I think any website bearing the name of one of a video game company's biggest and most popular franchises that claimed to be official when it wasn't would be either brought down or bought out by that company in order to protect that franchise.

In short, I'm positive that it's the official website. Whether or not the content is 100% approved by Nintendo and regarded as canon remains to be seen.
