The "mono" in "monocarbon" is unneccesary, I believe. Just saying "carbon" will suffice for one carbon atom.

Yeah, just "carbon" would work. -mono is only applied to the second element.

Anyway, I'm not sure how those would bond... It can't be a double-replacement reaction because not all the bonds are ionic. And I can just smell an extended octet in there somewhere. XD
