So, my mom is watching "Ugly Betty," and one of the characters is having a baby during a fashion show.  And I'm just sitting here thinking, "Gee, it's starting to get cliched to give birth in unconventional places."

That wasn't sick.  He was just pointing out that it's a bit naive to assume you're not going to have children ever.  Especially since you're 15 and you have a long way to go in life yet.

A lot of guys, when they're married and their wife is preggers, he'll tell a friend that he's "having a baby."

No, you explained it pretty well, TP Zelda.  "Having a baby" doesn't necessarily mean "giving birth."

Um, no, that's pretty much in every context.  Men and women can have a baby in any situation, but only the women can give birth.  That doesn't change.
