On that subject, where in Europe does "Half-Life 2" take place? I know it's Europe, as I believe it's either mentioned in the manual or somewhere on one of Valve's pages, but I don't know where.

According to a reliable source (Wikipedia) it takes place in Eastern Europe.  They didn't specify what country or anything.

I always thought Hyrule was on Antarctica.  Around the year 1000, Antarctica was in the Atlantic Ocean directly south of Greenland, but then it tectonic shifted down to the South Pole and froze over because Ganon was a jerk and he messed up Hyrule and the goddesess tried to fix things by killing everyone.
