But I must admit to watching some of the shows upon occasion simply because I dont have anything else to do.

I think it has something to do with how old we are. Eventually, when our favorite childhood shows are no longer on the air, we tend crave them when we get older, but at the same time, shows that are put on, we would've loved them back then, but now we think of them as abominations to the media.
