Why I feel I am in constant need of a drink

You know, in such a high stress time like this, what with our country constantly on the brink of disaster, I think now would be a good time for a drink.

I'm sorry... I can't help it, I'm just a bit anxious, but as soon as the election is over things will get back to a somewhat 'normal' state.

You know what I'm sick of hearing? The republican attacks, it's getting ridiculous and it's extremely ugly. There have been some dangerous dangerous words thrown out there, some dangerous and erroneous statements and even death threats against those who express their political opinion. This is shameful, this is ugly, this is beyond words, really.

The Robocalls giving out false rumors, the mail-in DVD thats anti-Muslim Propaganda, The letters marked 'terrorist' and when you open it, you see a picture of Obama and quote "Not who you think he is".

Why are the republicans standing for such low, baseless attacks? But now it's in the game where we know everythings in a desperate state.

There are threats against Mr. Obama's life. If Obama is assassinated, this country will go to absolute hell (even more so than now) faster than you can say 'revolution'.

Takun

I've gotten the same kind of letters. Kids at my school are buzzing with rumors on the man. And they always say, put Obama and Nation together. Obamanation. They say they could care less if Obama wins since he'll just be killed soon after.

Thing is, the Democrats have been fighting dirty as well. The difference is that McCain isn't authorizing these smears, it's racists and fanatics. Obama and Biden have been getting nast themselves, and...honestly, both sides of the campaign are irritating me. I try not to worry about it though. America's been in worse situations before.

Yeah.  I wouldn't be acting as though the Democrats are pure.  Neither side is playing nice.  It's politics as usual.

The Robocalls, the letters, all that, that's direct from the Mccain campaign. What have Obama and Biden done to justify this type of behavior that the opponent smears and associates Obama with terrorism? Mccain has continually run the nastiest campaign of modern history when he originally pledged to keep it clean. He's even using the same company that George W. used to smear Mccain back in 2000!

Drinking is vair good at making one forget what one does not want to remember, I know it sounds utterly foolish but it helped me a lot =)

I think it's getting stupid on both sides, but I ceratinly seem to be much more aware of the serious stuff by the Republicans.

As a worker for the McCain campaign, I can tell you that the Robocalls are made by volunteers who transfer every call to the answering machine.

That is, assuming we're thinking of the automated machine calls.

darkphantomime

But is that any excuse for the content of the calls? NOPE!

For me, I find it best to just not watch TV very much. After all, how much good can come out of it if all you hear is fruitless attacks? We'll just have to wait this out, I guess. The Big Man Upstairs will make everything better in the end...

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Takun

In my oppinion, it's time we took things into our own hands, and stopped waiting for "the big man upstairs" to take care of it. Yeah, it gets dirty every year, and yeah the Democrats are nasty too. But from what I've seen, Obama is smeared due to assumed ethnicity and color. If McCain is screwed with, it's not because he's white. Mud slinging is natural, but when a man/women's color, and religion is brought into it, and he/she is attacked solely on that. Then that when the issue needs to be taken into biased hands.

I'd like you to bring up one time that McCain has used that as an attack.  Obama's made his race an issue more than once, but not McCain.

darkphantomime

The Confirmation Bias at work, folks! Hear and see solely what you want to hear and see!

How about this one, Republicans accuse Powell of endorsing Obama because of race

Or how about the infamous remark where Mccain called Obama "That one"?

In the USA times on October 4th, front page, with a picture of Sarah Palin and McCain it says, and I quote "Palin accusing Barrak of 'Buddying around with terrorists'."
The fact that Obama is alegedly Muslim has also been brought up once or twice.
