Your TDC IRC channel and you

Here is how to run the TDC IRC Channel.

download XChat.  Use google.  (Do not go to xchat.com or xchat.net, they're porn sites)

Install it.

On the "Network list" that pops up, click add (on the right side) and type in TDC.  Press enter.

Highlight TDC in that list, and press edit.

Click on "newserver/6667", and type in irc.gnug.org.  Press enter.

Enable Autoconnect to this network on startup.

In the "Favorite Channels" box, type in #TDC.

Press Close.

Highlight TDC on the Network List.

Press Connect.

OR DISREGARD ALL THAT AND GO TO THE TACHEONIC IRC CLIENT

Here is good stuff to know.

Founder = purple name or "~".  Admin = me, GF, Jack

Super-operator = red name or "&".  Super-moderator = the mod squad

Operator = green name or "@".  Moderator = TW and any other single-forum mods.

Half-op = blue name or "%".  Neat little guy = people I like

Voice = Yellow name or "+".  Can talk in restricted channels, as well as the above people = whoever.

When I went to TDC on it, It said a whole bunch of stuff about like, administrators, and rules. Then at the bottom it says: TDC: no such channel.

Did I do something wrong?

Be sure to join "#TDC", not TDC.

What exactly is XChat? And since I'm using my dad's computer for a while, I wouldn't be able to download it now anyway...if at all.

It is an IRC chat client.

A text-based interface to an online community of various chatrooms.

It's a program called Internet Relay Chat.

It's essentially a portal to a conglomeration of online chatrooms.

Well, nobody seems to be on it anymore. Was fun while it lasted. As is, I'm sitting in it twiddling my thumps atm.

I would join, but I'm performing HUGE diagnostics at the moment that require my full devotion-- I only visit TDC sparingly within the past few days.
