The Twilight Realm and Link.

I have noticed something strange. You know whenever Link enters the Twilight in Hyrule, he becomes a wolf, and any normal creatures either become a spirit or dark monsters right? Well, why doesn't Link turn into a wolf right when he enters the Twilight Realm? :-X Could it be that the master sword protects him, or that there is a different aspect to the Twilight in Hyrule that does not normally apply to the Twilight Realm? Post your thoughts of this here.

What exactly is it that you're asking here? Your post is pretty confusing.

Edit: Haha, I get you now. Yeah, it's because he has the Master Sword. Remember how you turn back into a human (Hylian, whatever) when you first get it?

Hi no Seijin

Um, Link didn't have the Master Sword when he first entered Twilight Hyrule.

And he wants to know why Link didn't immediately turn into a wolf upon entering the Twilight version of Hyrule at the beginning of the game.

No, I'm pretty sure he's talking about why doesn't he turn into a wolf at Zant's Palace, or whatever that place was.

...I think?

I dunno; sounds to me like he's asking about the beginning of the game.

But if he is asking about the Palace of Twilight, then yeah, the Master Sword does give him some protection.

Yeah, but he asks why he doesn't turn into a wolf in the Twilight Realm, after differentiating that from the Twilight in Hyrule, so...

Maybe we should wait for him to answer. ;)

JoeLink

To clear up the confusion, I am talking about the Twilight Realm, where the Palace of Twilight is located. ;)

Alright, here's the low-down. Light and Twilight cannot co-exist, therefore anyone within it has a reaction. The denizens of Hyrule turn into to spirit, while Twili... ummm.... get hurt? (Think about the time the light spirit hurt Midna). So basically, Link transforms into a wolf in the mixture of light and darkness, but not the Twilight Realm itself, for it is stable.

MagmarFire

I somewhat disagree with the last thing you said, because there's no evidence that Link wouldn't turn into a wolf in the Palace of Twilight. If he didn't have the Master Sword by that point, we'd have found out more easily, but...I don't see why the Twilight Realm wasn't a mixture of light and darkness, too.

Your explanation on how light and twilight can't coexist makes a buttload of sense, however.

Light and shadow are two sides of the same coin. One cannot exist without the other.

This saying conflicts with your ideas, in my mind.

In my point of view, from what I understand, the Master Sword is pure. If the wielder is worthy to use it, he or she becomes protected from the effects of Darkness. However, the embodiments of shadow are also pure in darkness, so it conflicts with the Master sword. However, what I believe happened is that they were both equal in power, and since their powers cannot coexist, when Link came near the Master Sword, it pushed the "Black Diamond" out of Link. Once again, they're both equal in power, so when one arrives, it basically kicks the other out. When Midna uses the diamond on Link, it cancels out the power of the Master Sword, and thus Midna has to hold onto it, like she did his sword and shield the second time he crossed into Twilight. That is probably what happened.
Midna stated that the Diamond was different from her tribe's shadow magic. That must hint that the Twilight Realm is not as powerful in darkness compared to that of the Master Sword. So, when Link has the Master Sword in his possession, he is kept in human form due to the swords purity. That makes sense to me. I could be wrong.

Nice theorizing there. I give you props. :)

However, could you explain the Shadow Crystals in the Palace of Twilight, then? If you enter them, I guess their strength overpowers the Master Sword's power, so that supports your theory. On the other hand, when Link gets out of a pool of Shadow Crystals, he doesn't turn back from wolf form unless you order him to do so. How could Midna turn him back, then?

Possibly by getting the master sword back out. He can't hold it as a Wolf, so like I said, she probably hangs onto it while he's a wolf.

They seem to meld into him when he transforms, but then again, we have seen Midna holding the Ordon Sword and Shield before. When he became human again, it wasn't like she equipped them on him while he was sleeping.

Good explanation, I suppose.

Remember when she did have his sword and sheild in hand? She said she'd hold onto them, then they burst in that weird, black burst of black matter at the snap of her fingers. Whatever she did, that's how I think she holds onto his belongings.
