TP Zelda

Pfft I could get every kind of Shiny Pokemon if I wanted to probably XD

The Glamour Nazi

I doubt you have the patience for the chaining and Soft resetting Required no offense, There are also "chuck you DS across the room because chain breaks" moments to factor in.

*Pushes up fake glasses* Want me to try and get every single shiny Pokemon?
I can probably get them at lvl 100 too  ;D

The Glamour Nazi

Go ahead, I know Rabies isn't hacking his game for them. ::) ::)

I used to be a Shiny hunter but I chucked my DS a bit too much when I was So I became a breeder.

Much less stressful, Just as satisfying.

TP Zelda

Lol well how can you eba  good shiny hunter if there's leik, a 1/105u479057430958743095834095843905890435789043 chance of finding one  :-X

The Glamour Nazi

No its only 1/8700 estimated.

But if you soft reset or chain with Pokeradar that goes down.

TP Zelda

...Soft reset?
Chain with Pokeradar?
:-X

The Glamour Nazi

I'd pass this onto our current Shiny expert Rabies but he's not here....

Just wait til later and ask him.

TP Zelda

Ah nvm then, he won't tell me. He'll be all liek "figure it out yourself" and I'll be all like "jurk D:" and he'll be all like "^_^"

Hi no Seijin

I believe the button combination for a soft reset is Start+Select+A+B; a hard reset, on the other hand, would be turning the system off and then turning it back on right away.

As for chaining with the Pokeradar, it's using the Pokerader to initiate a battle with a Wild Pokemon, and then using the Pokeradar again to fight the same Pokemon.  When chaining, you need to pay attention to how the grass shakes.  When you use the Pokeradar again, try to step onto the grass that shook like the one before it.  Max Repels are very handy to have with you when you chain, as a random battle will ruin the chain.  When chaining, you must KO the Pokemon; you can't run away or catch it.

Rev Rabies

HNS is right, except one thing, you CAN catch the pokemon, it doesn't matter what happens so long as you win the battle, wether it be via catching or fainting.

Hi no Seijin

Ah.  Sorry.  It's been a while since I picked up Diamond and played it, and even longer since I had used the Pokeradar.

FFTA2 had been eating away on my soul, demanding that I make an even better clan than the one on my first file.

Lol, Yeah But like I said, Really stressful.

It's sort of crazy at times when you get a chain of almost 40 and then it gets broken without you seeing a shiny you get all *In Gannon voice* NOOO! And throw your DS out the window.

It helps to listen to music and other things that won't distract you considering you have to be looking at the screen the entire time after a battle.

Also Black flute helps keep pokemon away even though It's semi-unreliable.
