So, hey, a new Zelda game was just announced

What the heck is that last quote supposed to be?

I'm really confused.

HylianHero92

The last quote was from Bill Trinen, the guy who goes to E3 and other events with Myiamoto to translate everything Shiggy says to the audience. He's this guy:

Right before the announcement he said:

QuoteTry to stay away from ledges and sharp things for the rest of the day, Zelda fans.

He thinks we're gonna kill ourselves!

Well if Zelda goes the path you all think it's taking I will vut myself,

but like KP and I have said, wait out the storm, sometimes it's worth it like finding a lump of gold on your lawn after a hurricane.

Not accurate but you know what I mean.

HylianHero92

I'm not saying it's already terrible, but it's definitely not what I wanted to see for Zelda this year.

The Glamour Nazi

No one ever gets what we want to see in Zelda for this whatever, have you seen our expectations?

Go ahead and look I'll wait...

Done?

Notice our expectations are something of the Hard-core gamer style, Nintendo will probably only acknowledge a few of these at a time, if not one at a time.

So in the case of Nintendo, they're the most popular video-game company, if they make a mistake they'll notice it and probably wont do it again, after all look, it's japan, they're constantly learning from yesterday's mistakes.

Wow, KP was right, ranting is nice, albeit a short rant but...

I am not mad that it has trains. I'm mad because it's Phantom Hourglass. With the boats replaced with trains. I'm mad because I'm afraid. I'm afraid Nintendo will kill Zelda with this and future games like they murdered Mario with Mario Party and/or any sports game with the word Mario in it. They keep making complete crap like PH just to make money. Think about it this way: If it didn't have the LoZ title, would you be in the least bit excited? They're just making random games that are easy enough for anybody to beat blindfolded and putting their brand names on it. And the irony! A whole 2 years and all they can come up with is a proportionally-challenged train?! They better be working on a Zelda for Wii. A real Zelda. If not, Mr. Myiamoto will be very unhappy with the amount of spam in his inbox tomorrow morning.

This sounds an awful lot like you're claiming that a game you have yet to play is terrible.

OK, in my opinion, Phantom Hourglass was excellent. I liked it more than I liked Twilight Princess. I actually enjoyed myself a lot while playing it. It might have been a little on the easy side, but, still fun. That doesn't really matter, though, because you have no reason to say that the game is as easy or as hard as Phantom Hourglass until you've played it.

And, I fail to see how making a Zelda game is going to kill the series in the same way as sports games have killed Mario. The sports games have nothing to do with Mario. There were PLENTY of Mario Party and Mario sports games between Sunshine and Galaxy, yet Galaxy was amazing. Keep in mind that we're talking about the same company here.

And yes, I would still be excited. I love trains. A game with swords and trains is a must-play in my book.

The point is, you're making a lot of assumptions from a simple trailer. If you start off with a pessimistic view, you'll never like the game. You should learn to be more optimistic about upcoming Zelda titles or, at the very least, you should adopt an unbiased stance until you have some personal experience with the game to back up your opinions.

Yes, ranting is good.
The Fourth! A webcomic about the hopeless case of the game villain.

"Tis music that soothes the savage beast, but the dagger that causes long slumbers."

Darth Wyndisis

I remember how disappointed I was when WW and its cell-shaded graphics was announced.  Then when I played it it was a lot of fun and everything.

The Glamour Nazi

See Even DW agree's just wait to play it if you don't like just trade it in.

Now I'm off to pre-order it.

TP Zelda

Reading what KP said makes me feel bad.

Guys, it's a April Fools joke. It's blatanly obvious. The conducter suit, the shadow-guard, THE FREAKING TRAIN, they would never do this stuff.

ALSO: This is almost certainly not an April Fool's joke. Major companies don't make up major news at major conferences.
I'm going with KP here.

I can almost promise you that this is a April Fools joke. Just watch. Just remember, I called it.

And if you're wrong?

Gamefreak

I'm a bit uneasy, but I'm not going to go out and troll the internet over it.

Wait a bit closer to the release date, THEN troll this game to death.

It also my point to state, that the last few Zelda games have been really polarizing the fanbase.

Uximadesk

Maybe because the first ones united those fans that were captivated by the earlier games and were atracted by the same formula, then, when Nintendo tried something new, it was to each gamer to decide for their own.

Well, Zelda has fallen into two tropes in recent years: (yes, I read TVTropes)

Unpleasable Fanbase

and

They Changed It, Now It Sucks.

That's their own fault. If they had just kept the series the same, there wouldn't be anything other than the normal games for fans to like.
