There's a few guys at school who call me "Zelda". It started off with this boy who had a crush on me (as a mean joke in 6th grade), and it's spread to, as I like to say, "the other jerks." And it's not like a nickname that you'd call a friend or anything because I don't even know half of these guys. I can just tell it's just kind of mocking.  ??? So my question to you is, since you can think like guys. What exactly are their problems? Do they have a crush on me like the first guy did? Are they pissed that I could beat them hands down in videogames, gym class, and pretty much life itself? Or is it just some kind of grudge? (Because I called the first guy a (D word that means a fake you-know-what) after I got fed up and he was heartbroken)
I could really use your advice right now. Those idiots are getting on my nerves.  >:(

Believe it or not, sometimes nicknames just stick.  There may no longer be any malice behind them at all, save for the fact that they find the name funny...

Well, it usually goes away with one person, but after a while it spreads to another one.

Well, do you like the name? Because if it's a name you don't like, then that's different.

Like, it doesn't matter to me weather people call me Fishy, or my real name. But if I was called something else (that's not a direct insult, like stupid or a bad word), then I might take it as an offense.

So is the name itself bothering you, or the people who say it and the way it's being said?

I personally don't mind it, but it's the fact that I don't even know who the heck they are, but I can tell they don't mean it in a good way.

It's either

1.) Because they like you

or

2.) Because they find it fun to pick on you because you have a certain thing to like and they don't (they're jealous)


Honestly, I think you're quite lucky. Most of the people in my school don't even know what LoZ is! (and most of the people who do still think Link's name is Zelda)     ;)

These are actually some nice suggestions.  :) I actually might ask the source-guy why people seem to like calling me that. I haven't talked to him for a long time, but usually people are much better in high school than they were when they were punky middle schoolers.

And I know what you mean, HH, about them thinking "Link" is "Zelda". Major Gannon-Ban!  ;D

The number of Gannon-Bans would be off the charts... We should put it on a spreadsheet or something. =D

Anyway, as for your problem, Vaati...difficult for me to say. I can't say that I'm a guy that thinks like they do. Heck, I don't think much like anyone does... It could mean that they--or one of them, at least--like you. ...Just continue owning them in life. It can't hurt, eh? >:D

Most of my grade has gotten even worse once they gt into high school, actually. The majority of them are, quite honestly, ********. The other high schoolers agree that they're more immature than most freshman, too. They tend to think I'm all right, though I don't understand why.
