I think the Discovery Channel is a reliable source.

I hate using search engines to find something specific, because I usually get results that don't help me.  Besides, Fisk already had a source; why look for it when she can share it?

There are anti-tax tea-parties all over the US.

I was in one.

YAY ME!

Some of the people are ridiculously radical though.

Seriously, some people in Texas were calling for secession. That's a HUGE overreaction.

Obama went greeting-happy on Latin American leaders, greeting them in Spanish ("Hola, mi nombre es Barack Obama")
He was specially interested in making contact with Hugo Chavez, whose rivalry with G.W. Bush Jr. is the stuff from legend.

Try the Governer of Texas for that one.

TheRandomJohnny

I was passing by the forums and just happened to notice you say that there were people in Texas calling for secession.

I'm not trying to be rude, as a noob I have no rights to be anyway, but I think you may have gotten it wrong on that one.

There were perhaps 3 people in the entire state calling for secession. But these were by no means secessionist tea parties. I recall hearing the news say that these tea parties brought out "militants" and "secessionists" but by and large they had no idea what they were talking about. These were not organized, rallied, or had any intention of that event. It'd be like having a Black Civil Rights march and the Black Panthers showing up somewhere and then saying it was a African American takeover. Not accurate, not accurate.

Sorry, don't mean to be a prune, but this is how rumors are started mind ya.

Mysterious F.

While I do agree with you on how the media overblowed the event, three people is enough to qualify as "some".

DW

I wasn't saying it was a common opinion.

There are people in every state apparently thinking there's going to be another revolution though.

Captain Trips, here we come!

I sure hope it doesn't reach the heights of bird flu and the mad cow syndrome. So far, there haven't been any cases of it in my area.

people are just easily scared. even a pandemic is only a relatively small amount of a population...

HIV is a pandemic, and not that many people have it in comparison to the word. maybe 100,000 people have it in a city of 300,000, but that's still 200,000 people who are perfectly healthy.

It's just the way this new generation of people is... there's not a cure for it, it's a virus, everyone dies, etc.

If you treat yourself well, you're less likely to get it... if you think you're going to get it and spend 3 and a half hours before sleeping worrying about getting it, you'll be more likely to get it because your immune system will be down the drain.

the more you worry, the more likely you'll get it. Just sayin'.

Uximadesk

It is official, scholar activities have been suspended for a week to prevent the spread of the virus. Did you know that of all the fatal cases of pig flu (which have all ocurred in Mexico so far), the majority were victims between 15 and 22 years?
So, I'm out of school for 9 days. If I get infected, I sure hope I make it to my 18th birthday (May 18th). Damn those pigs!
