Only outside the Chatboard, and only if they aren't new material that is amusing such as that video was.

Then it essentially constitutes as spam, though, so there's no reason to add it to the rules.

Also, you spelled, "initiative" wrong :P

TP Zelda

So, only if it's outside of the Chatboard it's a warnable offense or w/e? XD

Gamefreak

I agree with Tacheon.  Anything goes spam-wise in the chatboard, but outside it, a Rick Roll is basically spam.

Hi no Seijin

Could they be a warnable offense if they cause your browser to jump around the monitor or something else just as annoying?  You know, as in any RickRoll that isn't a YouTube link?
Best.  Cane.  EVER!

I think your computer is the only one that would burst into flames if you clicked on such a link, so I don't think it would be fair to make that particular kind warnable.

That said, I voted for "Only outside of the Chatboard." Unless there's a topic in General Discussion about your favorite music videos from the '80s, I think it'd be considered spam to post.
What, you expect me to say something witty?

Rev Rabies

I disagree, because rick rolling is serious business, what if there was a rick roll in this topic? by that rule it'd be warnable, but then it would be on topic, so should it really be warnable?

TP Zelda

Well ROB, Rick Rolls are getting awfully abused around here. Like, remember April Fools Day? That's a time when it was seriously abused. I think we've been posting Rick Rolls for about...What, a year or something now? (I'm probably totally wrong but eh, it seems like it  :P) I do think they should be a warnable offense unless it's in Chatboard, or if it's in Chatboard and there are too many Rick Roll videos or somethinnnnng....yeaaaaahhh.... I think you should be able to post 5 (possibly 3) Rick Rolls max in the Chatboard.

...Wait am I making a fool out of myself?  :-[

Do you try at stuff like this?

A Rick Roll would have no point whatsoever in this topic and would definitely be an immediate warning.

If you post a Rick Roll outside the chatboard, you better have a good reason for it.

Rev Rabies

what if you posted a rick roll to show everyone what one was?

also, this topic is about rick rolling, so if a rick roll were to be posted, it would be on topic, it doesn't have to have a point to be on topic

TP Zelda

Bzzt bzzt!

Wrong!

Though this is about Rick Rolling, does a topic about warnable offenses with cussing mean you can just cuss in that topic?

Rev Rabies

no, because that's an official rule, all i would have to do though is say here's an example of cussing: *insert swears here* or in this topic's case, here's an example of a rick roll, then post a rick roll, and it would totally have a point and be on topic.

TP Zelda

Yes, but a Rick Roll outside of the Chatboard has become an official rule now so you can't post one. :33

Sorry I'm late to the party.
I voted only outside the chatboard.
Its part of internet culture now, and to ban it would be to spit on the name of good internet memes.

But I'm never gonna like that song again... 8)
