Ah yes.  A picture of Link is Nintendo's big reveal.

No offense, but I don't think there's a gamer who didn't know Nintendo was working on a new Zelda.  To get 2 new Mario games for Wii, and a new Metroid game, the only thing that shows that Nintendo is doing what everybody knew they were is a picture, is still a dissapointment.

I know it is, but I'd rather have this than nothing.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Metroid looked nice. But its not enough. Next time new consoles roll around, I'm making the switch to Microsoft. I'm sick and tired of being repeatedly dissapointed by Nintendo. I've seriously about had it. If I see one more super friggin mario game, I'm gonna hurl. His name doesn't even mean enough to me anymore to have even felt bad for not capitalizing his name. As far as Wii goes, it looks like I'm leaving Nintendo. Never thought the day would come.

Why so much hatred of Super Mario Galaxy?

Oh and there's THIS

You see that? That's Morton Koopa Jr! The Koopalings are back!

In regards to the Legend of Zelda drawing, I would've prefered that they did not show the drawing.

Like I said, I don't think there's a gamer who didn't know Nintendo was working on a new Zelda for the Wii.  It was my thought that the game probably had some serious development time behind it given the amount of time that's passed since Twilight Princess.  But to have the only thing representing anything resembling the next Zelda game be a picture, I feel a bit cheated.  Especially since they've managed to make plenty more Mario games and a couple Metroid games since Twilight Princess came out.

In this case, ignorance was bliss.

But the "big reveal" was that it was Mature oriented, as opposed to a kiddy Wind Waker type style (which I have no problem with but prefer TP style better)

Gamefreak

My problem isn't the content of the reveal.  My problem is that they've had close to 3 years to work on a new Zelda game for the Wii since Twilight Princess, and have since released 1 Mario game and 1 Metroid game, with 2 more Marios and another Metroid planned for release.

And all they have to show for 3 years of work is a picture.  That shows that they've spent little to no time working on it.

From what little info we were given, it seems to me that the game engine is already in advanced development. Do consider that they are probably working on a new one this time (TP had a shockingly simmilar engine to WW). So we have an engine and work art, which is actually a lot. Of course I'll stfu until I see some footage.

Is there any hope for ComicCon?

That last sentence is untrue. The new game has supposedly been in development since Twilight Princess was launched, and we all know that Nintendo loves to keep secrets.

If that's the case then, seems a bit stupid to just show a picture rather than a full blown press conference that a lot of people watch.

MagmarFire

...I'm not exactly sure where you're getting at here.

He's saying Nintendo is lazy and deserves to die for not having said  anything consistent related to Zelda.
I guess he really wanted to see that picture.

My complaint is this...

Quote
"There are people who think of Zelda more as an RPG with simpler controls, so trying to figure out how to make everybody happy is something that's going to concern me,"

Zelda is a Fantasy Action/Adventure. Not an RPG.

I'm jumping ship if they make it an RPG.

I Prefer they way they've been making it, sure the story needs a revamp and the difficulty has slowly been getting easier, with TP the worst offender of all.  ::)

But I don't wanna see another overplayed RPG. I love action adventure. I hope he doesn't make it RPG like those Game-illiterate people think it is. Or maybe I'm just reading that quote wrong...

Gamefreak

I can't really think of anything that would classify Zelda as an RPG.
