Hey, Mags, do you have any more info on Kingdom Hearts?  I was talking to Alpha about Square Enix at E3, and the only thing he mentioned was a KH for the 3DS, but he didn't hear that it was Re:coded.

From what I can gather, Re:coded is going on the original DS, while 3D is going on the 3DS.

So, I was at IGN skimming an article on the 3DS, pictured below.



See that knob on the by the top screen?  Guess what, it's not for the volume like I originally thought it was.  It controls the 3D effects.

Prior to the system announcement, Nintendo ensured that gamers will have the ability to turn on and off the 3D effect. The system has a slider control on the right side of the top half of the system that can intensify or weaken the 3D effect – pushing the slider all the way down turns the stereoscopic effect off completely. An LED indicator will light up when the 3D effect is turned on, no matter its intensity.

If you're like me and think that things popping out at you in 3D is best used for horror, rejoice!  It's an optional feature!

Standard DS games will likely not have the ability to be displayed in stereoscopic 3D on the 3DS. DS games will likely only be displayed in standard 2D.

The 3DS has a current release date of March 2011, perhaps even earlier.

Well, I haven't heard any news yet, and I'm only getting on for a little while, so I'm not digging around for news right now.  But the top four things I want to hear about from E3 2011:

1.) Nintendo's Project Cafe
2.) Sony's NGP PlayStation Vita
3.) The Legend of Zelda:  Skyward Sword
4.) Team Ico's The Last Guardian

Come to think of it, also:

5.) Paper Mario for the 3DS
6.) Starfox 64 for the 3DS
7.) Metal Gear Solid 3 for the 3DS

Something unexpected, guys. A new Sly Cooper game!? REALLY!? I think I forgive Sony for not showcasing a new Ratchet and Clank trailer at its main conference. :>

Going off what has been shown so far the ones that are getting me majorly excited are Tomb Raider and Mass Effect 3. But I was going to be excited for them anyway.

I seriously had tears in my eyes in the Tomb Raider trailer and demo, how could they do that to my Lara?!

I'm also looking forward to some of the Kinect stuff they talked about (Yes I bought one okay!), especially Dance Central 2, and Fable: The Journey. Plus the thought of using it to be able to speak in Mass Effect 3 is just insane!

I seriously had tears in my eyes in the Tomb Raider trailer and demo, how could they do that to my Lara?!

They're rebooting the Tomb Raider franchise and making Lara a more realistic character.  And from the replies Game Informer got earlier this year after they published their Tomb Raider article, most fans, particular female gamers, are happy for the new portrayal.  After all, a strong female character (or any character, for that matter) can still be scared; because that's strength, doing what you need to do in a difficult and scary situation even though you would rather run away from it.

Also, can you guys post links to your sources?  It would be nice to read more than just, "Hey guys!  New Sly Cooper game!"

What could be a strong case for getting a 360 and Kinect:  The ability to watch TV as it airs.  The article also briefly discusses other content that the Kinect will be used for this fall.

The PSP's next iteration:  The PlayStation Vita.  Can't wait to hear more about this.

The Playstation Vita is surprisingly priced at 249 US Dollars for the basic WiFi model, and 299 US Dollars for the 3G + Wifi model.

It's an interesting day when Sony and Nintendo are competing on price.

I dunno, but I'm kinda psyched about the fact that Assassin's Creed, Tekken, and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon were announced for the Wii U. There's also a console, and it's a tad taller than that of a disc, it looks like. It looks pretty darn small. BUT BOY, DOES IT LOOK POWERFUL!
