If you don't have it, you should get it.  It's awesome and amazing and great.

But for those who do have it:  We all need to get on one server and make a guild or something.  If we had more members here on TDC I would recommend starting a different guild for each clan but as it is, we just don't have enough people.

DON'T FORGET TO ADVERTISE TDC TO PEOPLE YOU KNOW WHO LOVE ZELDA. [/shamelessplug]

But seriously.

I was playing on  a free trial a couple of weeks ago if that counts

So uhh, how can you afford a WoW subscription when your family is kind of low on funds?

If you're referring to anyone in general, try what I've been doing-- get a website, sign up for advertising services or the like.  There are a lot of ways to get even small amounts of revenue online, and not all of them are bogus.

Twilight Wolf

I actually got a copy of "WoW" from the friends who visited us this weekend as a gift - I'll have to check it out. Hopefully my PC can run it...
What, you expect me to say something witty?

FunTykoon

I use to play, and I am in the process of getting my parents to let me play again.

I normally play on roleplaying servers, in which you act like your character and have a jolly-good time, which is where I would reccommend we play. You get alot more experience playing that than just questing and raiding.

Takun

I actually just logged off. It is a great game, you all should play.

mhh... Thing about WoW... most of the people on it are [bubble gum]. No offence to those that do play it, but my first experience of going on it was incredibly negative. My friend however insisted I should keep going with it and that it was just that I was playing as a human character. So I tried playing as one of the horde (This was a long time ago can't remember what exactly it was, probably a troll) and was surprised by how much more positive the community was. Switching between the two was like switching between a small group of people you met occasionally who played and were fairly polite. And a large group of rather less nice people. Who said fairly foul things all the time and generally were very very annoying. Unfortunately what with such a small number of people playing the horde there didn't seem to be much to do, ad without other people to play with the game soon got stagnent. Wasn't worth the cost. I suppose I might consider going on it again, if money suddenly starts spewing out of my ears and the number of people increases with a larger percentage being tolerable...

That particular word isn't allowed here, sorry. - TW

Its all about what server you choose, and what kind of server it is. Heres how it goes:
PVP: People are going to be horrible to you. Because PVP=UBER COMPETITIVE. It the Darwin Theory of WoW. Only the strong survive.
RP: People are ALWAYS going to be nice. RPers are the friendliest folk you'll come across.
Normal: Its mixed. This depends solely on the server. I've found that the Horde is normally smaller, but nicer. And the Alliance is large but filled with jerks.

If you want a large population, then just look at the population level next to the realm name.

When a ratio of Horde to Alliance gets too low, they offer free realm transfers to that server for whichever is too low or away from it for whichever is too high to try and make things even out.

Thanks, I was playing on normal... but really? My experience of RPers on mmorpgers would suggest the complete opposite with the majority being more concerned with telling you how mighty their ancestors and the power they wield is compared to your puny character. But I'll certainly give it a go some time, thanks for the advice.

FunTykoon

I agree sometimes with RP'ers, but you can tell them that it isn't fair and they will sometimes change their character.

Deku

I played the free trial for a little bit last year.
I started as the undead race :)
It was pretty cool, but not addictive.

Thats how I basically felt about it.  It was okay, but I didn't feel the need to pay to play.

Yeah, it's unfortunately becoming more like that everywhere. I'm not sure if it's because of the blending of gamers and non-gamers that's becoming more common or what. It seems like an increasingly smaller percentage of RPers are actually treating the RP with respect lately. Noticed it on HA2, Runescape...blah.
