I guess people loved Midna so much that they introduced another mechanic just like her.  Makes sense from a sales standpoint.

But wasn't Midna just another navi/tatl?

So technically don't they love the Navi/Tatl mechanic?

Although Navi and Tatl wen't really heavily related to the story.

Tatl was vaguely related to the story, and I suppose Navi was as well, but only slightly.

And Midna helped a lot more than Navi and Tatl.  She gave you access to several areas, had a few abilities that could be used (i.e. the Twilight circle and lock-on jump abilities when you're Wolf Link), and she was just plain fun.

Midna was more of a character than a mechanic and she felt a lot more important.  I'm sure this Master Sword chick will be the same way.

Maybe it's just to give him a tough, eye-catching stance. May have nothing to do with the story.

I noticed that Link and Adelle seem to be standing more back-to-back as if working together. A lot like the Four Swords official art where the Links are in the cross-position.
