I'm not sending it to you because I think you identify with the far right, but rather, I feel it might create some interest when it comes to political discussion.

Not trying to troll here, just trying to get some feedback from you, big man.

And I did show that link to a few others on facebook, though I didn't get any comments from those others.

Besides, I wouldn't show it to HNS because he's always telling me how he isn't interested in politics at all.

Ok then.  I was just making sure you weren't trying to make some sort of statement to me.

Well, GF I think you'll find this article of enormous interest. Know all those people  who protest health care reform at the town hall meetings? Turns out most of them are from out of the district. This looks mighty suspicious to me... A bona-fide astroturf campaign.

Gamefreak

What?  Because they're outside the district it means it's part of some Republican conspiracy?

darkphantomime

When a congressman makes a town-hall meeting, it's generally reserved for said congressman's constituents. However, in this case, many of the protests are manufactured and organized by the GOP and not by actual members of the congressman's districts.

Thus I must conclude that yes, this is in fact a republican conspiracy to derail healthcare. They have no business being there for the Town-hall meeting if their sole purpose is to disrupt. The fact that so many come from out of the district and even out of the state is really, really suspect.

Why would so many people choose to travel hundreds of miles away from home if not for this disruptive agenda? The facts speak for themselves.

Gamefreak

Have you ever thought that some people are just that fanatical?

Look, I'm not condoning what these people are doing.  Because, it's pretty obvious that whining loud enough will not stop Congress from passing that bill.  But for Nancy Pelosi and others to say that these people are un-American simply because they oppose the healthcare plan, it easily shows the level that Partisan Politics has boiled down to.

If these people are indeed puppets being played from the shadows by Republican leaders, then these people have no right to hold office because:

1: It's pointless.

2: It's shameful that they should have to do that in the first place.

I'm all about the free exchange of ideas, but one should not have to be manipulated into thinking a certain way.

Yet we are manipulated on a daily basis. Just look at this article that shows that Liberty Group is behind many of the distortions and lies behind Healthcare including the infamous 'death panel'.

News flash: We already have 'death panels' that decide if you're worthy of healthcare, and it doesn't come from the government, but rather from Private Insurance's habit of using Rescission to deny people coverage for 'pre-existing conditions'.

See also this article in which a former executive to an insurance company tells us who is really behind the protests.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened; in fact, it's far from it. Prior to the Civil War, many southerners would head into territories being considered for statehood and vote for the territory to become a slave state.

darkphantomime

Well, well, well. What do we have here?

Quote– Artificially Inflate Your Numbers: "Spread out in the hall and try to be in the front half. The objective is to put the Rep on the defensive with your questions and follow-up. The Rep should be made to feel that a majority, and if not, a significant portion of at least the audience, opposes the socialist agenda of Washington."
– Be Disruptive Early And Often: "You need to rock-the-boat early in the Rep's presentation, Watch for an opportunity to yell out and challenge the Rep's statements early."
– Try To "Rattle Him," Not Have An Intelligent Debate: "The goal is to rattle him, get him off his prepared script and agenda. If he says something outrageous, stand up and shout out and sit right back down. Look for these opportunities before he even takes questions."

Yep, pure astro-turfing.

Also, if it helps, I found similar articles on MSN. See this and this.

Well, it seems we ARE on the way of beoming fascist. Geez, and adults should be setting examples for us. Funny, how so many adults get so completely overcome by their emotions easily when their children act calm and in control.  ;)

JQ, what did you think about Obama's comment on UPS and Fed Ex vs. The United States Post Office?

darkphantomime

The post office is hundreds of years old, while UPS and Fed-Ex are fairly new. The situation is not applicable in the same manner as healthcare reform is, as it is the private insurance that needs reforming.

Gamefreak

But it's the government that runs the Post Office.  I don't exactly get what Obama hoped to gain by saying that the Post Office is in trouble while Fed Ex and UPS are thriving.

darkphantomime

I see no problems with the post office, other than the threat of closure of 800 branches. To which case, I order items constantly from various sources monthly, sometimes even on a weekly basis and have always received my items (well, except for one time...)

Gamefreak

So...how about 11 year old girls that Obama plants in his own audiences?

Couldn't possibly be anything wrong with that right?

Mind  giving a bit more detail than that?

also, you'll find this article of great interest, I think :P

Direct comparisions between the Clinton and W. Bush years.

Also, if you're referring to this with the 11 year old girl, then I see nothing at all wrong or suspicious about it.
