HNS, you disappoint me!

*repeatedly turns head side to side in disgust and downright confusion*

Only Miyazaki film you've ever seen?!??!?!?!?!?

Go to the nearest Best Buy, look in the DVD's, look for Princess Mononoke, buy it, watch it, then PM me.

Anywho....back on topic for me.

Neighbor Totoro was pretty cute indeed.

Well, Spirited Away WAS the one that won the Oscar, so that does justify why he's only seen that one so far. Totoro is his second cutest, in my opinion, first being Kiki's Delivery Service.

Also, I haven't seen it yet (but me and two friends of mine who also like Miyazaki will soon), but I can't help but think that most of the reason people are saying it's not his best is because, after three more "mature" efforts, Miyazaki nose-dived right back into pre-school-childrens' films with Ponyo, and that is a genre that usually turns off most people a little bit.

Although my mom pointed me towards this online job opportunity.  I might take it; she found it from a reliable source, and it certainly would pay well enough for me to quickly pay off college and buy myself a new latop.  I'm not sure if I'd want to keep on using it as a source of income, though.

Of course you'd want to keep using it as a source of income! You keep on  whining about not having money for fun stuff, well, now's your opportunity to fix that problem. Might as well take it and use it for as long as possible.

You know, HNS, you don't have to just BUY movies now, you can also RENT a movie now-adays.

It just seems like cheating, though.

Why rent a movie I know I'll love?  I reserve renting for movies I haven't watched yet.

But we digress.

I know the plots will undoubtedly be far too dissimilar, but as I was rewatching a trailer for Ponyo, I just thought, "Huh, it's Finding Nemo, but cooler since it's from Miyazaki."

Yeah Kiki's Delivery Service was very sweet. But for me nothing beats Totoro and the Cat Bus.

Mysterious F.

Yeah, they were also pretty cute. Mabye I'm just naming Kiki's Delivery Service because it was the only one I saw as a child, and I have fond memories of it? Oh well, if that's how it is, nothing I can do, right?

Pale Dim

Personally, now that I think about it, I think I'd want to see the japanese version (if there is one) first before going to the english dub with those relatives of....*shudder*....but that's just me.

Ah...there's nothing like a good anime.

Mysterious F.

Just wait until it comes out on DVD. Disney was going to release Princess Mononoke with the dub only, but then just about every anime fan was outraged, so they released the sub too.

Mysterious F.

Figured it was worth reviving the topic to say that Ponyo will likely be Miyazaki's most successful film in the USA yet. After getting over $8 million in only two weeks, it's bound to surpass the $10 million Spirited Away got.
