I really, really dislike that the people who don't want gay marriage are Christians.

In the Bible it says not to judge.

There are other ethnic/religious/cultural groups that don't support gay marriage, although most of them are also members of an Abrahamic religion.

The fact of the matter is that this entire issue hinges upon your opinion of the sanctity of marriage.  Some view it as an exclusively religious act, whereas others view it as a legal matter.  Others still view it somewhere in the middle.  The question then isn't "do you support gay marriage," it's "Do you support gay legal marriage?"

Mysterious F.

Since religion seems meaningless to me, the answer is yes for me.

DW

Sometimes I wonder though why they care so much to have the marriage be a holy one for a religion that says what they're doing is wrong. Just seems...I dunno.

Yeah, but when the New Testament was written, lots of the Old Testament is invalidated.

Well, many people, including Christians, believe that much of the Bible was forged and is more reflective of the views of whoever wrote it.

Really? Last I heard people favored a more literal approach rather than figurative.

I said some, not all, and don't deny it, you know there are people who believe that.

I support gay marriage. You're born with your sexual orientation, so it can be considered natural. Plus, love is love, not matter how you slice it and dice it, I think yes, gays have the right to marry more so than a straight couple who hate each other do. My geography teacher freshman year once said "The reason gay couples can't get married or women don't get equal pay than men is the government is filled with men who don't want change, because they were raised on the fact that marriage is a woman and a man, and the man is greater than the woman" Sure it's just what he thinks and not a proven fact, and the women get less pay than men is a different issue, but, I can somewhat agree with what he said.
Religion is a different issue, but in the Bible, it states that everyone is equal, and you can see the face of God in every single person. It also says, when summed up that we as humans do not have the power to judge or condemn anyone to Hell. Which, anti-gay supporters kinda do think, from what I've seen, some think that they have no right to be with God in the afterlife, which is downright silly. God allowed for people to have free will, the right to choose, and God allowed to be such thing as gays, because of the sexual orientation statement I said in the above. There's nothing wrong with it!

DW

I still wonder how you're born with a sexual orientation, yet so many people change. How do you prove something like that?

Hi no Seijin

It could be a choice, but there's probably some biochemical reasoning behind love as well.  Love is quite a complex emotion.

Indeed. And when you sweat, you put off a scent only certain people can detect, you as a person can't smell it, your body however can, and that is how you become attracted to one person or another, just a little fact, so yes, there is some biology in love.
Your sexual attraction is built in your genes while your in the womb. Choice can probably make it stronger or weaker.
