Emotionally solid moments in MM

I was just playing the ROM in Project 64 (yeah, sue me!) and I came across these little momments:

  • If you don't beat the aliens on the 1st day, on the following days you can see Cremia inside the barn, looking devastated at the lost of her cows and her sister's memory
  • When Mutoh, the carpenter master, yells at the Moon on the eve of the carnival "Fall already!" unable to overcome his own pride
  • When you read Anju's grandma's diary, damn...
  • After getting the Mask of Scents, when the buttler tells you how much you remind him of his son, and you know very well that it was his soul that was used to make the mask
  • The cutscenes where you heal both Darmani and Mikau's spirits
  • That part when you get the Gibdo's mask
  • When the monkey teaches the Sonata of Awakening (OK, this one needs a little explanation, he teaches the song knowing very well that playing it would anger the king and make his punishment worse, but he does it anyway because it's necesary to save the princess)
  • Of course, when Anju and Kafei say their vows while they wait for the inevitable end
  • When the Giants tell the Skull Kid they are not angry with him

What helped those moments get into the list was that, even if they are just a few seconds long, they tell you a lot of the characters in them, like the burden Cremia has to carry due to her parents's abscence and so on.

Oh I love this game so much...

Don't mind me, just fixing your list :D

Don't forget the moment when the giants are actually coming to stop the moon with the Oath to Order playing in the background. You can only imagine how everyone in Termina was feeling when they were feeling the earth being destroyed and also when they suddenly find the gravitational rumbles stopping. Freaking epic. Probably my favorite moment in the game.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

You can't forget the moment that you don't notice until after you've beaten the game already - when the Great Bay Giant tells you to "Help our friend", but he's referring to the Skull Kid rather than the last giant.

TP Zelda

Also, don't forget the feeling of having gotten to the Stone Tower Temple for the first time. (Or, just playing through the whole game the first time.) (Sorry, maybe that's just me that really loved the moment I got to the temple.  :P) You get that sense of...joy, and when you beat the game you've just witnessed one of the best games everrr.  :P

The Glamour Nazi

What about the part where the Deku Butler is crying at the feet of that weird, dead tree at the end of the game.

It makes you realize, "OMG THAT'S HIS KID!"

And the way they describe it in the beginning of the game is sad.

I just recently found another one.
If you didn't speak to Anju about Kafei on the first day, you will see her come out of the Stock Pot Inn on the second day at around 2 pm (she will be carrying an umbrella). She walk all the way to the Laundry Pool and sit on the bench. If you talk to her, she will tel you that she's worried about Kafei and ask if you have seen him (she puts Kafei's Mask for a brief moment). She will then start crying over him for a while (I do admit that I felt a little sad too).

I loved all of those moments. The whole game was a masterpiece that Nintendo probably knows they will never outdo. If they made a better game than MM, I would never again lose faith in the company. They'd better impress the heck out of me with this next game. I'm growing tired of what Nintendo has become  :-*

Yeah, I remember that one... it's even more sad because he was right there the entire time, and never spoke to her...

If I remember correctly, if you go through with all of the Anju-Kafei sidequest up until the night of the second day, then go into the room you (should) have got at the Inn, look through that hole in the wall that you can hear through, and you see Anju fight with her mother. Her mother wins, and Anju leaves ClockTown.

Yep, I remember that too.  If I remember right, the conversation changes depending on what you've done for Kafei and Anju.

One thing though (and I don't quite remember), does Mikau play with the Indigo-Go's in the credits?
Because, what's going to happen when the goron and the zora find about Mikau and Darmani being dead?
Did Link have to tell them the truth in the end or did he just leave?

It's still a bittersweet ending, at least for those close to them.
