Which artistic Zelda style did you like best?

Which art style do you prefer for your Zelda games?

Toon Link (tWW, PH, etc.)
Twilight Princess
Original (Zelda, Zelda II, etc.)
Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask
the Zelda cartoon
No preference

Simple enough question; which Zelda art style/phase did you enjoy the most?

For the most part, I like the Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask styles the most, they're not too realistic (a la Twilight Princess), but it's not overly cartoony to the point that the creepy parts (helloooo shadow temple) are not nearly as creepy.

for the most part, though, I feel like a Majora's Mask in Twilight Princess style would be a new experience entirely, and just not be Majora's Mask- just as if you were to take the adorable post-apocalyptic distopia that is Windwaker and put it in Majora's Mask style, it would be a different entity.  So, the style influences gameplay, in my honest opinion, and the nintendo team did a very awesome-o job of fitting the storyline with the art.

I loved the OoT style, WW I couldn't play for very long (after I beat it) because looking at the graphics for any extended time made me go insane. But I will say I loved the gameplay for it and such. TP I did like how it was but for me some of it was just to overly done.

I personally chose OoT/MM because it versatile, in the way that they are not tied to making a charachter realistic to make it fit into the world, yet they can make some serius looking characters as well.
However, I have to give some credit to the art in TP because the enemy design is sick and God knows I love that.

Pretty much that.

Twilight Princess comes in a close second.

The OoT style to the TP style does it for me.

The style of TWW is nice, but it's becoming way too overused in my opinion.

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

I abstained by saying no preference.

Do you know why?

YOU DIDN'T INCLUDE THE ALTTP STYLE.

That game is my absolute favorite in the entire franchise. The art and graphics are magnificent, and the story is the best so far in my opinion.

Toon Link, because everything seemed much more lively and creative, almost expressionist, and bursting with colors.

I knew I was forgetting one! Sorry about that ;v;

Hi no Seijin

There's also the Oracles, but then again, the official art is similar to the official art for the ALttP remake.

It's almost identical. That happens to be my favorite style. Also, the medallions are cool items, so that game just wins.

I always thought the Oracles (and Link's Awakening) were more of a combo between Legend of Zelda and Link to the Past.

MasterKeyX

You could think of it that way I guess. I mean, the Oracle games drew heavily from AlttP. It's obvious by the mechanics of the game.

Still, nearly all of the elements that suggested Link to the Past was set in a three dimensional world were removed in the Oracle games, which fits Legend of Zelda better. For example, you couldn't even go behind trees.

Hi no Seijin

Wha?

I would assume every game is set in a three-dimensional world, if not multi-dimensional, and it's just that some games present the story to us in two dimensions.

Of course, since time is considered a dimension, then even the 2D games are actually 3D, with the 3D games actually being 4D.

But perhaps we're straying off topic here?
