Questions and mysteries

Sheik

Well, I think that Zelda games are full of strange things, mysteries, questionable actions, etc. I would be really glad if we could discuss some of them or even solve some of them.

I will start with a bunch of questions:

1)My first question is about my favourite character of the game, Sheik. Is Sheik a male or a female? I have heard a lot of people saying Sheik is female but I don't think so. I think he is Impa's child or one of future Links. Don't have clues to prove it though, just my thoughts.

2)My next question is about The Majora's Mask game. Haven't played the game, I have only read about it. It beggins with Link returning to Kokkiri Forest, from an adventure, with Epona. Two fairies scare Epona, a boy with Majora's Mask appear and that is how the game starts. I am wondering, which adventure is the one that Link is returning from? Ocarina Of Time I say because it is the only game that Epona is in, or am I wrong? The other question is how the fairies and the boy managed to go from their world to Hyrule. People talk about parallel dimensions but it is really strange because it would be a great solution for the Triforce to travel to these dimensions to be protected from evil willings.

3)This question has to do with Link's Awakening. Link is supposed to going to train (Why is that? Pretty strange I say...) and his ship, which travels across the Hyrulian Great Sea (Where is this sea located?), crushes and then he wakes up on a bed, etc. At the end he wakes up again, realising everything was a dream. That means Link has never went away to train, or doesn't it?

4)What about Link and Impa? I have read a lot of "Zelda Histories" around the net and found that Link is supposed to save old Impa. BUT, after that, Impa meets Link and talks him about Zelda. Wasn't Link supposed to already knowing about it?

5)Do Marin and Tarin have something to do with Malon and Talon? Names sound really familiar...

6)Another strange fact is that after Link's Awakening, Link decides not to return to Hyrule... He goes to Calatia and there Arn and Medila do a child which they call Link. And I wonder...where does the "original" Link goes when Arn and Medila's Link is born?

7)From Comics and CD-i games I learnt that the Triforce Of Power was once given to the people of Hyrule as a sign of goodwilling. Who gave it to them?

8 )How comes Ganon always returns to Hyrule from his jails?

9)For The Oracle of Seasons and Ages story, Ganon breaks the Triforce into 8 small pieces. Could you imagine that? Ganon is supposed to do his best to take the Triforce and now that he has it...he brokes it!

10)I play Oracle of Seasons now and I am really surprised. There is a girl called Din (like th goddes?) and a pupil called Impa (Zelda's protector?) Pretty strange, don'y you think?

11)How comes Gannondorf has the Triforce at his hand, like Link?

12)How comes Link rarelly talks, including every game?

Well...here we are, I am finished. I hope I didn't waste any of your time or annoyed you. I also hope you can help me and I can help you too with any questions you have.

(I am heading another forum section right now, to introduce myself!)

Is Sheik a male or a female?

Play Ocarina of Time, the answer is there. It may surprise you, so i won't spoil it for you.  :o

I'll get to the rest of your questions in a bit.

Evilslayer

1. If you haven't gotten that far in OoT I won't spoil it to you, but Sheik's a female.

2. Where does it say that Link is returning from an adventure? He is looking for a dear friend (Navi) who he departed ways with when he finally fulfilled his heroic destiny.

And it's not that hard to travel between Hyrule and Termina, and back. Link returns to Hyrule at the end of MM.

3. Where does it say that he's going to train? According the English version the people fear that a new evil is about to appear, and so he goes on a journey to find that evil.

However, that might only have been made up by NoA (believe me on this, it won't be the first time). What we DO know is that Link is travelling in a sail boat and then caught in a (magical?) storm.

He is hit by lightning and is found by Marin on the shore. LA wasn't his dream, but the Wind Fish's. Link, the Nightmares and the Wind Fish are all real. Marin also becomes real, as she turns into a seagull.

4. I don't really understand that question. However, Link saves Impa in LoZ and learns that Ganon has captured Princess Zelda and the only way to save her is to collect the eight shards of the Triforce of Wisdom.

5. No.

6. That's pure fan fiction. There's NO official source that tells that he went to Calatia, a kingdom that shouldn't be considered as an official country, as it isn't mentioned in any of the games. I believe that Link returns to Hyrule and marry Princess Zelda. As for Arn and Medila; even IF they were official charecters they would have lived CENTURIES after ALttP Link died.

But now I'm forgetting that according to Miyamoto, ALttP is AFTER AoL. That makes sense, 'cause the seven Wise Men in AoL are closer related to those who lived during the time of the Imprisonning War than the Sages in OoT.

7. Even Miyamoto thinks of those three games (at least the two first, as the third is supposed to be much better) as a disgrace towards the Zelda series. And they were made by Philips, not Nintendo. And the comics shouldn't be considered official either.

8. How come Bowser always (at least, almost always) is the final boss in Mario, no matter how many times he's killed?

9. What are you talking about? No one has the Triforces in the Oracles. Ganon only appears at the end of a linked game, after Twinrova have sacrificed themselves to bring him back.

10. Play TMC. According to that game Din descends from a line of Oracles (presumably all of them are called Din). It isn't necassarily blasphemy, like some might say.

That's because she's an oracle of that Goddess, and it's not in all religions that it's blasphemy to have the same name as a god. I don't know how many people there are in Norway, where I live, called Tor, but there are a lot. Tor, or Thor as he's called in Denmark and English speaking countries, is the name of a god in Norse mythology. Same goes for Odin, which also is a name ordinary people can have. And he's kinda the Nordic version of Zeus.

11. That's because he has it within him. In TWW, once Link collects the eight shards of the Triforce of Courage and shows it to the gods in front of the Temple of the Gods, it appears on his left hand.

12. That's because it's an RPG. Believe me, it's FAR from the only RPG like that. The only RPGs where the hero talks are those with voice actings. It's the same way in Shining Soul and Golden Sun.

I think I'll voice a theory I have. I got this idea when discussing with someone called Archaic Sage. Remember that the Deku Tree referred to the Kokiri Forest as the source of life? That would mean that life originated in the Kokiri Forest.

My idea is that the Hylians are descendant from the Kokiris. That would explain why Zelda and the first few Links (at least OoT and TWW, as I don't know if the Capcom games can be considered official) are blonde. They probably have blonde hair because they're pure Hylians. It also explains why the Hylians have blue eyes.

My theory is that some Kokiris left the forest and that way became mortals and eventually started to grow. They probably intermarried with Humans, but not as much as between the Imprisonning War and ALttP (my theory about that is that the war was so horrible both Humans and Hylians almost became extincted, so they had to intermarry to survive). Eventually, only a few remained whose hair was blonde.

I don't mean to sound like a Nazi, but the Kokiris have blond hair and blue eyes, so it do make sense. Also, it seems to be tradition. We have the Atlanteans in our world. They are said to have been tall, blonde and blue eyed. And there's the Ancient Kaunians (although their descendants haven't changed much) in Harry Turtledove's Darkness Series. They're pretty much the same.

I kind of like to believe that the first actual Hylians travelled to Lake Hylia (because it's named after them) and there made their first settlements.

Jack

QuoteMy idea is that the Hylians are descendant from the Kokiris.

My only objection to that is that its based on the assumption that the Kokiri are real "people," which they kind of aren't. As we learn in Wind Waker, the Kokiri are actually Koroks that disguised themselves as "people" to do their good works in the forest without arousing suspicion. I doubt that these beings, which are limited in number and seemingly immortal/ageless would have had offspring.

Evilslayer

They disguised themselves as Koroks to plant trees on the different islands. No where in the game does it state that the Koroks are their true identity. I don't think that makes much sense, anyway.

QuoteDeku Tree: What do you call yourself? Link? Well, then, Link... These are the Koroks-the spirits of the forest. Once upon a time, long ago, the Koroks took on human forms, but when they came to live on the sea, they took these shapes. Now they fear people... but to me, they will ever be my cherished little children.

Maybe we're both wrong, that the Korok's "true" shape is unknown and they just shift as they see fit.

Sheik

In which game does the Deku Tree say these?

mmmhhhmm. she started gaining and losing wait i herd she go lif-o too ;D

Evilslayer

Oh, sure. She's a Hylian in the Oracles and LoZ/AoL, and she's younger in the Oracles than in OoT. Explain that. ;D

Oh, and don't get me started on all those evidences that the Oracles aren't sequels to OoT.

Master Goron

She's probably a new person, since it has been confirmed there's more than 1 Zelda and Link, there's gotta be more than 1 Impa. And her heritage (shiekah) from OoT it a good example.

Sorry a little late.

It's so misleading. Not to sound immature, but Sheik wears a form-fitting leotard and there is not a shred of evidence that she has the anatomy of a female. If you know what I mean.
