So, lately I've been working on vampire culture for my writing.  Now, these days, vampires wear leather, probably for Rule of Cool, but I'm wondering if the leather would be effective armour against wooden stakes and small blades.  I'd like to have leather-clad vampires, but only if the leather serves a practical purpose.
