What was so bad about it?

James Bond IN SPACE. This combination shouldn't have ever been allowed. Much of the none-space stuff is awful, too. The infamous Venice scenes are often called the worst in the entire series, the henchman Jaws has an annoying romantic subplot, the villain and Bond girl don't leave an impression, a forgettable theme song, and Roger Moore looks like he's on the verge of falling asleep during every scene. The plot doesn't make sense, either (this came just after the franchise began to be nothing but a series of random set pieces without a cohesive plot to sensibly keep them together), and it involves a giant space station that has been completely undetected by all of the space programs on Earth for who-knows-how-long.

Though to be fair, the special effects for the space scenes are still pretty amazing, and the sets for the space station are kind of cool. Too bad about the rest of the movie. Octopussy and A View to a Kill are supposed to be even worse than this, and I am very frightened.

I've been going through the series lately, since a lot of them were added to Netflix Instant. I have seen the following (rated):

Dr. No - 8
From Russia with Love - 9
Goldfinger - 10
Thunderball - 9
You Only Live Twice - 8
On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 7
Diamonds Are Forever - 6
Live and Let Die - 4
The Man with the Golden Gun - 5
The Spy Who Loved Me - 7
Moonraker - 2

Keaton

Moonraker was a great movie!  I especially liked the part where Jaws was a pedophile and the plot made no sense.

I knows Jaws is really beloved by many James Bond fans. I really kind of hate him, though. Especially in this one.

Also, just watched Casino Royale (maybe the best of them all, and Craig is probably the best Bond) and am currently watching Quantum of Solace (really boring so far).

When I was a man, I didn't eat 4 dozen eggs, every afternoon to help me get thin! And now that I've shrunk I don't eat 5 dozen eggs, so I'M SOFTLY THE SIZE OF A SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIILLLL!

I just sang that in Gaston's voice. Thanks a lot.

I like how Gaston's song rhymes "specimen" with "yes I'm in" (-timidating). God, Howard Ashman was a songwriting genius.

The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma.

We can understand them.

Second favorite SpongeBob line. (The first obviously being "Do you smell it? That smell. A kind of smelly smell. A smelly smell that smells... Smelly.")

Pale Dim

Both of those quotes are awesome.
