About time you returned, KP! :D

Now, excuse me as I ask why people could think the art style sucks when this picture exists. (No spoilers; just Link swinging the Master Sword and being awesome, as usual.)

How!? The style just...looks way too darn awesome... T.T

Advanceshipping and Rion had better be Chuck Norris approved.

Hi no Seijin

Oh, hey, I just thought of something.  Remember in Twilight Princess, how if you smack a cucco around enough, you where put into its point of view?  Are they going to repeat that for Skyward Sword, or will they go back to the Cucco Flock of DOOM, I wonder.  I'm hoping for the Cucco Flock of DOOM.

Thanks to KP for saying what I wanted to. I just lacked the way to put it right I guess. Nice to see you actually paying attention to the forums though. :D

Also, awesome picture Magz! I haven't been paying attention to the new art.

Hi no Seijin

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!

I just realized something:  With Skyward Sword being pre-OoT, we might get to see Sheikah!

Doesn't it just remind you of Ocarina of Time and, yet, give off the air of being a new style?

It totally does!!
HNS, what gives you the impression that it's pre-OoT?

OoT is the first Zelda game in the timeline. :-\

Hi no Seijin

As Mags said, it has been confirmed that Skyward Sword will cover the origins of the Master Sword; would you care to explain how Skyward Sword can be an origins story if it comes after Ocarina of Time, where the Master Sword already exists?

Just because it covers how the Master Sword came to be doesn't mean that you'll be playing the story that it tells. For instance, Wind Waker covered how Ganon creeped back into the land, and that the Goddesses flooded it; But they didn't let you play that story.

The Land was created.
When the Goddesses left, they left behind the Triforce.
A war broke out over which race gets to hold onto the triforce.
A woman and her baby flee from the flames of war into the forest, where she entrusts her child to the great Deku tree.
Being raised a Kokiri, Link wore the sock cap all his life.
After that, it has been tradition for the chosen hero to be garbed in the hero's clothes. That's where the hat originated. What's this link's excuse for it if he came before the hero of time: Unless he IS the hero of time grown up from Majora's Mask-- in which case this game would not come before Ocarina of Time.

It is isn't it! I can honestly say that is, for lack of a better term, freakin' awesome.

...But it doesn't look anything like what little game we've seen.  :o

There was a brief period in which I got myself excited for SS, but I looked at said pictures on Zelda Universe and that crushed it.

Please stop screwing with me Nintendo :(

Hi no Seijin

Again, with trying to use Link's clothing to justify a game's place in the timeline.  In-universe, only The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess even claim that the green tunic and hat is traditional.  Look at A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and The Minish Cap; Link wakes up already wearing the green tunic.  Using this line of logic, almost any game released so far could be placed first in the timeline.  I think TWW and TP is just trying to lampshade the fact that in every game Link is wearing a green tunic and hat, and I highly doubt the whole getup has any real significance in-universe.

For some more solid evidence, a quote from Aonuma himself on Skyward Sword's story:
"The trailer we showed you this morning was Link diving off a cliff into a sea of clouds. That's a very important point in the storyline. Link is a man who was born and raised in this land above the clouds, called Skyloft. One day, an incident reveals to him that there's another land beneath the clouds. This other world is a place ruled by evil forces and is very dangerous, yet Link is forced to go into that world and has to travel between Skyloft and that other land.

"The thing that leads link into this other land is the Skyward Sword. The mysterious figure you see in that artwork was the Skyward Sword; when it's giving Link advice, it will take the form of that figure. You may have figured this out, but this is the Master Sword -- the Skyward Sword eventually becomes the Master Sword."

Spoilerific source of above quote.

@HH92:  Again with the graphics.  Fans keep on complaining about the graphics, first with The Wind Waker, and again with Twilight Princess, but despite their graphics both games are generally considered good games.  Have you considered thinking about the graphics from the design team's point of view?  Here's what Aonuma had to say about the style (same source as the link above):
Quote from: Aonuma"The sky is also something that's important to the game. We want to play up the sense of the sky, which is why we've implemented this art style."
Considering this screenshot, I think they accomplished that.

I don't like the graphics alright! It looks to me like like it was a last minute change that doesn't suit the game at all. IN MY OPINION.

Geez.  ???

I implore you ALL to take a look:

Apparently, though, (major spoilers) Steve does turn out to become the Master Sword by the end. Or at least, that's what I heard. So yeah. (358/2 Days) I'm already drawing connections between her and Xion. XD

Anyway, GUESS WHAT!? Apparently, there's an Iwata Asks for Skyward Sword. And then guess what? Apparently, according to it, there's going to be more in terms of story depth than Twilight Princess!

Yeah, considering how story-based Twilight Princess was, I'm hyped now.
