HSotD was Gainax being a whore and cashing in on a really lame  trend, and just generally being low quality Gainax.

What happened to the good old day when story, animation, and entertainment were on the same page as the sex appeal?

Now all you get from them is crap like HSotD.

I liked HSotD just as much as I liked FLCL. I thought it was really good. A lot of people I know genuinely enjoyed watching it.

No offense, but it sounds to me like you're basing Gainax's recent quality on only one point in sample space. That's statistically useless when making sense of trends.

Correction, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt is just as recent as HSotD if I remember correctly, either a year older or a year newer.

I just felt HSotD was Gainax doing like they do with trends, cashing in because they know people will watch it, then doing a sub-par job.
